I went in to the gym today and I had to wear a mask the entire workout. I did legs. I opted for the squat rack and it was a good choice to get my form back. I looked awful and could barely bring the bar low and had to keep the full weight on my neck. I did squats, good mornings, stiff legged and regular deadlifts in the rack. I strained my rt biceps femoris aka hamstring so I kept the weight very light.
I looked pathetic. Like I was severely battling cancer and doing chemo treatments with my headband. I did a few machine exercises and lunges after and treadmill.
Bar squats won’t be a strength builder so much for me as it will for others. It will help tremendously with my balance and form so it’s best to go light for now.
I really am off center. I’ll try again with a different bodypart and a split.

I did make it to the gym today and I regretted training legs yesterday. I hate the vulnerability of the DOMS delayed onset muscle soreness. Still I was able to stay sharp and be intimidating and of enough presence to avid being a victim of a crime. I left early like 5 am when still dark and there is an area I transferred buses where there are 3 dispensaries on the same block corner. These dispensaries have been the scenes of several crimes including shootings. Well I was watching a doughnut shop employee where I buy doughnuts sometimes and there are some homeless in the area. One individual came hanging out by the side of the gas station near the dispensary and approached a rather passive and docile homeless man like some smooth criminal. I recognized the technique as I have thwarted this type of robbery myself. But I heard the words robbery, robbed and wallet. The guy simply offered him a pack of smokes from which he took one and then held on and then asked for a ligther and then held onto the lighter to make his fist seem more powerful and threatenting. I attract crime and criminal attention like a magnet so of course he was looking at me and almost started across the street to “test” me out. I was ready to die and fight to live. He got nervous and said “good morning sir” I simply said Good morning in loud firm voice back.
Anyways I did some stretching and it is much better. I hit shoulders and arms and frozen shoulder is ridiculous. Still I am stronger despite doing several pre exhaust warm up sets and was able to do some heavier weights. I had to wear a mask the whole time and my breathing towards the end of my workout along with the mask constricting blood flow almost made me pass out like an mma choke.
Some people don’t care about their health or bodies. I kept my heart and mind pure and on fitness.
I have a different body when I enter the gym. It is like going through a transporter.
I want to get to the point where I am lifting heavier regularly and more intensely with volume so I make big gains but also lessen the DOMS and the vulnerability. I could train light and just be more active and not have to worry too much about being hindered by stiffness or frozen bodyparts or cramps and strains as much. But then I wouldn’t be fast enough and not much without the density and strength and power.
Oh the guy did give the smokes back but kept the lighter and looked mad.
And despite my legs feeling so weak and the joints painful, everything seems set so much stronger and denser now.
Your workouts are so impressive. I think it’s your undying commitment to a healthy body. Keep up the good work, Mark. I support your commitment to strength.
Yes, I went in today despite severe shoulder and arm pain. My left arm feels stronger and heavier but it has deep “bullet to the bone” pain. I am varying a split. Today was just chest and back. Lots of pyramid sets and pre exhaust to really pump in the blood. Looking much stronger and I ran a few laps in the empty aerobic class area. I used a cheap blue disposable mask and it made the workout cardio so much more effective.
My stretch marks are itching, the ones on the upper chest by the shoulders I haven’t felt for decades. I was told those were from either fast size increase or deep stretch pec exercises. It’s a very good indicator without bothering about weight max, bodyweight, etc. This is like the fast beginner gains I had as a teenager. It is noticeable in just one week of complete split at the gym. I can barely lift my arms though right now.
Still worked legs today despite the right hamstring. It’s powerful, its’ there, it is going to take some time to get everything aligned for proper biomechanics, it is very light and with caution in progress, no ego.
Man I am looking so hulking massive right now I should be green from this old picture. Green with power!
Actually my stomach capacity is at immense size right now and I’m still going to the gym and working abs. I did gain some muscle and strength but my body looks so different at times a picture really doesn’t show what’s actual.

Wow that does sound very impressive. I’ve done 200 pound curls on an e-z curl bar. I can still rock a set of 10 with 45’s on any given day but building up arms again is coming slow. Do you do triceps kickbacks as well in that rep range?
I admit somebody doing a set of 120’s for ten reps would probably be put in immediate check by you doing 12 pounds for 100-200 rep sets.
I have watched videos of people doing air squats in that range. It looks looped after 10 reps then co video x 10.
You know, like shaking your hips three times and getting an extremely powerful and heavy 36 forceful movements.
