Woodworking

These brackets warp easily. They are designed to bite into the wood but some didn’t bite so well as others. It’s not exactly even and totters on 3 legs at a time but will even out on dirt. Or maybe with some more twisting and prying. I did use the hammer drill driver to put in some screws but prefer the hand screwdriver for the finish and just sometimes for all the pilots fully.

I’ll probably finish the other one tonight as I have all the pilots drilled in the legs but not the top bar. I didn’t mount the brackets flush at end with the top piece so I can hang things from them and avoid splitting those bad ends.
I’m going to use these to first paint the slants from the bench I removed and sanded and then cut them for braces.

Well it’s a little after midnight and I have a pair of saw horses. The second is a bit more stabler than the first but I can always come or cut it down with a circular saw. These are a bit lengthy on the inseam but I can always buy a shorter set for cheap. I used arrest techniques to drill in the cross piece. These are rated at 150 pounds. I’m really tired but going to try to get in shoulders.

This took me 24 screws and was double the work with Moon’s pilot whale hole drills, but not a single split. I’m dehydrated and salty.

Looks great, Mark.

Nice job Mark. Im not doing anything exciting. Im making rain barrel stands this weekend out of pressure treated so it doesn’t have to look great.

Is it easy to add a granite slab on top of a rectangular table? Is there something special used to bond it? I’m considering making a dining table and my wife wants a granite top. So I’d have to get a slab cut but not sure if it is easy to attach. My cat is at the vet because she throws up once a day and she most likely has cancer so the stress of that has contributed to a headache ans nonproductive day.

I think construction adhesive should do the trick.

That sounds awfully heavy. How much will it weigh?

Sorry to hear about your cat. My old friend John Bates just had to put down his woman’s cat. He was 18. At least the little guy’s pain has ended. I dread that day with Lola but I know it will come.

She’s 16.5. Might have a few months left.

I’m not sure but my dining table now is granite. Seats 4. And it is heavy. Fairly easy to take the legs off so the slab cab be carried without the legs. Still heavy lol. She will change her mind in a few days so I won’t have to worry about it.

lol. I hope so. I hate unnecessarily heavy furniture.

I hope her time is as painless as possible. I do not fear death. I fear leaving my wife in a bad position and I fear unnecessary, lengthy pain.

Other than throwing up for 10 seconds a day she seems happy and seems to want to live.

You’re disgusting and undoubtedly lazy. Its also cruel to your wife. Your cat is suffering and someone has to clean up after it.

If I die, my wife will be sad but I think she will get 250000. She’d probably sell the house. I doubt she’d want to live here alone. She would be in a good spot financially. If she dies, that’s a different story for me.

Oh, I see. That completely changes everything. Her only question should be to get on one knee or both when she cleans up after the cat.

Michele, you must be hell to live with.

Yes, Dear.

I’m having trouble following along here. What exactly is your problem with Dan? From what I see, he’s not being unkind to the cat in any way. Are you saying he should have the cat euthanized now? Or what?

I put michele on ignore 2 months ago. Fyi.
