I don’t think you’re getting what I’m saying. I pay 20% over the price anyway. Raise the price by the tip amount and get rid of the tip and I’m even.
You’re right. I forgot your system down there. Here, minimum wage is the same for everyone. Raise the price by the tip amount, then, and give it all to the staff.
Also, consider the new Trump policy of no tax on tips. The socialist ideology of sharing the tips one earns with other employees, and the government for that matter, is about to get destroyed in the USA as capitalism surges us to greatness again.
Socialist idea? That’s not a socialist idea. That’s a simple policy of some restaurants to let other staff share in the reward. It seems silly for the busboy to keep the table and area spotless, the cook to prepare a perfect meal, have the customer enjoy it, and then the only one who benefits from the tip is the person who brought it to the table.
Anyway, the socialist idea (which is correct) is to pay everyone adequately and ban tipping.
RFK is the new head of the Department of Health and Human Services. lol. The USA is going to be a clown show for four years.
Over the past two decades, he’s increasingly devoted his energy to promoting claims about vaccines that are at odds with the overwhelming consensus of scientists.
These include the disproven claim that childhood vaccines cause autism. He has also said that the COVID-19 vaccine is deadly and suggested that the coronavirus itself was “ethnically targeted” to harm blacks and whites while sparing “Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese.”
Kennedy insists he is not anti-vaccine and claims he has never told the public to avoid vaccinations. But he has repeatedly made his opposition to vaccines clear and has said, “There’s no vaccine that is safe and effective” and has urged people to resist federal guidelines on when kids should get vaccinated.
The World Health Organization says vaccines prevent as many as 5 million deaths each year.
Kennedy said he would call on water agencies to stop adding fluoride to drinking water. Fluoride strengthens teeth and is viewed as a major health success.
He made a variety of other claims not backed by science, such as questioning whether HIV causes AIDS and suggesting antidepressants lead to school shootings.
Bizarre stories also surrounded his personal life. These include his statement that a worm once entered his “brain and ate a portion of it and then died.”
And this year, he raised eyebrows by admitting he was behind the long-unsolved mystery of a dead bear dumped in New York’s Central Park a decade ago.
I know that. Strange as it is, I believe you believe in America as much as I do. Maybe we just have different ideas for the best way to make America great again.
Most of us here are. I definitely believe the 3 of us are.
Although, what year would you say America was great? I can’t really think of any. Maybe 1996? Aids was still a problem. Reagan’s war on drugs really screwed a large community. I really can’t think of any time when America was great.
1950s with Eisenhower temporarily saving the middle class with a 91% tax rate at the highest income bracket?
What time are you referring to?
I’m interested in improving USA. Not going backwards.
I know you were asking Michele, but I’ll answer from my perspective, too.
To me, America has always been great in some ways and messed up in other ways. It has always left people behind to die, which I find disgusting, but it has also always accepted hard-working strangers and immigrants. It’s a great place to start over. I consider the US one of the least racist places on earth. It has always been a great place to innovate and try new things.
I don’t like gun violence, gangster culture, dog-eat-dog economics and RWNJ politics, but I still love the USA and want the best for it.
Imo, America was always great but we lost our strength and position of power when we turned away from God. Obviously, we can’t claim to be One Nation under God if every act is godless.
Really? That’s your point of greatness? When Eisenhower signed a deal with the Greys to trade technology for human experiments?
A time before fluoride in our water, toothpaste and dental products. A time before prayer was removed from schools. A time before the present 50+ childhood vaccines required to participate in school. A time before a woman’s alleged right to murder under pretense that there are no consequences.
What people?
Would it be fair to say that you prefer the traditional government oversight? I love the U.S.A. as well, Reg. With Trump, we are getting what is best for us. We are and will get everything we deserve.
