Well, obviously I think I got the Uber unions one right, too, but everyone has their perspective.

How it went.
Absolutely. I simply you meant you guessed wrong.
Yeah, I was really curious how you vote, not what the results of the vote are. I know how it went.
I would have voted the same way the votes went.
I probably wouldn’t have been very upset if one or all went the other way.
I think having servers make minimum wage would have put the restaurants out of business, with a combination of servers quitting, long waits due to less staff, more cost to the restaurant, more cost to the customer.
I think food prices in restaurants would go up and people can barely afford to eat out.
I would have been against raising wages, too. Most waitresses live on tips anyway. If Trump will stop taxing them, that would be positive move.
Thats possible. Idk. ![]()
AOC wants tips untaxed. Amazing if they’d agree on that. I can’t imagine Trump cares about servers.
I would vote to untax them, too, but I also hate the whole concept of tipping. I am starting to wonder, would it really raise the cost of food in the real world if we banned tipping and raised the server’s wages by 20%? I would end up paying about the same, and I would feel much better about the whole transaction. I hate having the waitress look at me as I tap the percentage on the machine. Tipping just feels dysfunctional to me.
That may be your problem.
It absolutely would. It would be okay if you only had to raise one servers wages. That’s probably affordable but most restaurants have two to six servers, depending on whether you’re talking about fast food or fine dining.
If it’s all the same to you and the tip method keeps food down and restaurants in business, what difference does it make?
Your gratuitous meter is plunging.
I don‘t see any reason(s) worth to exploit people for the price they can‘t make a decent living and that means to raise a child or two. Otherwise we shouldn‘t wonder or even complain about high numbers of drug abuse, depressions and crime rates. Just to name a few negative effects of too low wages. Low wages has the biggest negative effect for the already weakest in a society. Migrants and single raising parents.
Why not first tax income of capital gains and other income as high as wages? At least in Germany that‘s not the case and I doubt it is in any other country.
Perhaps that’s why the government in your country has collapsed.
No.
lol I know. You’re right. I was just bringing attention to your disastrous problems.
I wouldn’t be against it, if you didn’t get stared at like you are still supposed to tip. I suppose it depends on the restaurant. Servers aren’t going to work at Ruth’s Chris for 15/hour.
Also increasing their rate by 20% wouldn’t come that close to minimum wage. At least not in Massachusetts.
You know nothing, Michele.
That may be true. I think I get dumber every time I read one of your long-winded posts.
I bet that‘s it, Michele. ![]()
I bet that contributes to it, daily.
Simply ignore it then instead of reading. Are you that weak, lol?
I never ignore anyone, regardless how mean, cruel and cold their behavior is.
It is as you say.
