I personally don’t care anymore. We are moving to a future where gender doesn’t exist so a “drag queen” (whose very existence implies there are men and women because one is pretending to be another) is obsolete. In fact, even the perverts now consider drag queens obsolete.

“I don’t care” in English does not always mean “this issue is unimportant to me”. In this context it means, “I accept all possible outcomes in this case”.
Example:
John: “What do you want to eat for lunch?”
Jane: “I don’t care.”
Lunch may well be important to Jane but she feels that whatever John chooses will be acceptable to her. It is not implied that lunch is unimportant to Jane, or even that Jane is not a fussy eater. It only means that she accepts the possible outcomes in this case.
Similarly, the future of society is very important to me, but I accept the possible outcomes in this case, including what I consider to be the most likely outcome of a genderless society.

The guy was seriously conflicted. He had protested gay marriage in the past. Now the drag queen event. He was openly gay.
Yes, it seems likely that this story has nothing more to it. A troubled young man killed himself. It’s just a bit odd that he did so after his most successful protest, or at least the most viral. Unless they find some evidence of foul play, I’ll mentally file this as resolved.
