Tiny houses

I think I interrupted a conversation and they both left in a huff.

You can’t interrupt a forum conversation. I think she thought the whole “wouldn’t it be boring” thing drew to a nice close and then I decided to ask how she’s doing and she had already left.

@Dan, I am seriously thinking of driving nothing anywhere. I have no car here in Sudamerica. I wish I had no car in Canada. Once Uber hits Vancouver (which could be years as they’re a bunch of weirdos there), I will probably dump my car.

Settling, spent 4 days in Al Ain on our way back and both felt like we were back home, we had a brilliant time, but it could never be home. Although I have a cousin in Dubai who is giving it a really good try, it gets into your bones in a way.

She’s very mysterious.

LOL @ Will, couldn’t agree more but it was a very nice church

I love churches, and can ignore the absurdity of the mythology behind them, much as I can appreciate the Parthenon without believing in the goddess Athena.

It can never be home, true, but it can be a temporary home. I feel that way about Colombia. If I do decide to reduce my lifestyle, I am thinking about spending a couple of years in Africa. I’m not sure about that at all, and it’s just talk for now, but it’s a definite possibility. Capetown, maybe.

Oops sorry, I’m not good at multi tasking. I have a company car Dan, Subaru outback, don’t think I would choose it to buy, but it’s free, so I’m not complaining.

Life is pretty good Reg, Sydney is a beautiful city but it’s expensive, polluted and noisy and, and … I’m hoping to move, there is a possibility I might be able to swing working from home on contract, if that works out, life will be even better and we can move sooner rather than later

If I had no say we would end up in a hut somewhere in Africa … South Africa does not appeal though

If I lived in sudamerica or Vancouver, I probably wouldn’t own a car. I wouldn’t if I lived in boston. If I worked in boston I’d take the train and would probably have a clunker to get there.

I can’t believe Vancouver doesn’t have uber.

I believe London banned Uber

Julie, what IS it with you and sand and huts?

I went to a tiny house festival last Saturday and they were all mobile. The ones with lofts really stood out.

Reg I think you should make the next POM with sand and huts.

Vancouver has banned Uber for years on some stupid principle. It gave in a few months ago and legalized it but Uber probably won’t be operating yet when I arrive.

I agree on the POM but wait for Halloween to be over.

I live about 100 meters from the train (LRT) in both Medellín and Vancouver. I almost never take it in Medellín because Uber/Taxis are so cheap. In Vancouver I take the train a lot, especially if I’m going to have a drink or two which I rarely do here in Medellín.

Edited to add: Here is my photo album of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. It looks like a single photo but if you care to see the rest, click it and you’ll see my photos of the place. I just love it there.

Fair enough. I would like to say (and I cast no aspersions here, merely an obeservation) I think Julie likes to be the only moist part of the picture. An oasis as it were.

@ Will, Nothing in particular, I just seem to bump into them

Fair enough Julie. Please forgive my teasing.

Not tiny.
