depends on how you interpret my previous answer
Let’s get the other more silly statement out of the way here, I didn’t tell you not to question anything. The Bible says to test the spirits.
thats impossible to do when your one and most important rule is to state there is only your god and you must obey your god
I interpreted it exactly the way you said it. As I recall you said both yes and no Then you said your parents don’t believe in God and that they sent you to a Christian school because it was close by, implying it had nothing to do with teaching you Christianity. From that I deduce that your parents taught you nothing about Jesus nor did they care if you learned about Jesus or another god from another source.
That’s not what test the spirits means.
So if I tell you to believe in Jesus and then I tell you Jesus is a flying pink elephant you can know that I have a false spirit and you should ignore my teaching as it does not echo Scripture.
yes you can interpret it that way but you could also argue that if they didnt want me to learn about any gods they would have sent me to a non-religious school
there are many words in your bible but there is only 1
important rule is there not? did i misinterpret that rule?
jesus or an invisible (still important) pink flying elephant… its the same to me
a spirit no matter true or false is also just another invisible pink flying elephant that only exists in the minds of believers
i only ignore spam
Why would I argue that? You led me to believe that they sent you to a Christian school because it was “closeby.”
There are two and imo you didn’t misinterpret the rules, you swapped them and called it humanity.
lol because you are a believer and will automatically assume everything is the work of your god
i didnt call it humanity?
i just dont see why you would try to cover up your most important rule(s)
perpaps this will help you:
should your god ever be questioned by anyone?
They get past this with a bit of intellectual dishonesty, Nico. They say sure, question God, but you have to do so blindly believing in him and in everything he says. Silly.
James 1:5-6 ESV
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
When you say “questioned”, what do you mean? Do you mean to question God the way Gideon did or what?
The only thing this comment does is confirm that you are intellectually dishonest.
Nonsense. He’s free to do like you and question Him deafly.
lol no not like gideon; if i was someone that could talk to a god and ask for proof, i could skip a lot if not all steps (and probably just declare myself a believer or insane)
since i question everything, i get very suspicious when people tell me i shouldnt question something
without “blind faith”, one first has to first determine whether something is real / whether it exists
so the first natural step for a non-believer like me would be to question the existence of your god
in order to do that i use my senses… can i touch, see, hear, smell, feel your god?
nope i cant, ok lets see what other proof is there of its existence besides others believing in your god?
i cant think of or find any, therefor my logical conclusion is that your god is an invisible pink flying elephant and it only exists in the minds of the people that create it
We were all born with a measure of faith. I know this because as long as I can remember, I have known there is a Power greater than me in this world. When I was old enough to read, it was confirmed. That you deny it is a problem and I don’t think there is a solution beyond at the very least, pretending you have blind faith.
If you were like Gideon, you could skip the pretentious uncertainty and and go straight to questioning whether or not that is God or something different you hear. Or if your faith is lacking, you could ask God to show you a sign tailored to your specific situation, and He definitely will.
no, “we” are not
just because you “know” this, doesnt mean anyone else does
lol you really want me to pretend that i have “your faith” and honestly think that is somehow a solution?
i dont hear anything, if i did hear at least something i could indeed question what it is…
ok, so you (and your god) want me to pretend that i have faith and pretend that i hear something and your god will make it all better?
dont you remember i already tried that? i pretended and played along with your sick game and i asked you and your god to kill me but nothing happened
you really want me to try again and prove you wrong (again)? lol
Just because you say no one else does doesn’t mean they don’t.
No. I want you to be honest about the faith that you do have, regardless how little it is. For instance, you have enough faith to believe this conversation is worth pursuing or you wouldn’t have replied to my last post. If you can acknowledge that much, it’s more than you’ve ever acknowledged before.
Well, you’re listening for a small still voice. If you would stop screaming on the inside you could probably hear it.
No, I don’t or I’ll have to pretend I believe you.
Yeah, well, I probably pretended I prayed for your death.
No, your sick game is killing me.
i did not say “no one else does” that would indeed be as wrong and silly as saying “we were all born with a measure of faith”
i do not have any of your faith
enjoying an argument or trying to make clear to you how i feel has nothing to do with faith
there is no screaming on the inside or outside but even if there was surely the voice of an almighty god would be heard over everything? lol
yes the realisation that your god only exists in your head might be too much for you too handle
nods… pretending does seem to be a necessary skill in order to believe in your god
iam not the one asking others to pretend and i may not be an almighty good god (that somehow cant do anything outside the minds of those that have blind faith)
but iam a pacifist and wouldnt hurt a fly
I suppose you can lean on that faith to get you where you want to go in life as long as you know there is a way that seems right to a man but it’s end is destruction.
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
- Proverbs 14:12 TLV
being a pacifist has nothing to do with faith… its a choice of (in)action
destructive is having to pretend or asking others to pretend
all humans will die and be eaten by worms or fish even those that feel a need to pretend to live forever - thinkingaboutit 10-2-2022
I agree and you should stop doing it.
Did you think that up all by yourself lol
