Olympics

harrie’s hatrick is completed, what a race monster!

woohoo netherlands in 6th place

china is ahead of the usa… but looks like the americans might end up on top of the list by winning a gold medal in cycling and taking the gold in womens basketball…

I can’t find the video. This is a different race. At least in this case, judges made a decision before the medal ceremony and stuck with it.

I would imagine in the case of the American gymnast getting her bronze taken away, the judges must have had an incorrect degree of difficulty. There really doesn’t seem to be anything else you could argue a score change on. After the debacle, I assume the person that effed that up won’t be invited back. They really screwed 2 Olympians. The American actually had the correct score adjusted back to the incorrect score and if they thought that was the right thing to do 5 days later, the girl they gave the bronze to will I assume have it brought to her home. No podium.

Nico, you are so full of excrement. Canada didn’t have a great Olympics, but we did VASTLY better than your vile nation. Here’s what we won. I’ve already listed what your country won. As proud as you must be of sweeping the synchronized masturbation events, I wouldn’t trade.

  • Christa Deguchi - Women’s Judo (-57 kg)
  • Summer McIntosh - Women’s 400m Individual Medley (Swimming)
  • Summer McIntosh - Women’s 200m Butterfly (Swimming)
  • Summer McIntosh - Women’s 400m Freestyle (Swimming)
  • Ethan Katzberg - Men’s Hammer Throw (Athletics)
  • Camryn Rogers - Women’s Hammer Throw (Athletics)
  • Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney, Andre De Grasse - Men’s 4x100m Relay (Athletics)
  • Maggie Coles-Lyster, Sarah van Dam, Erin Attwell, Ariane Bonhomme - Women’s Team Pursuit (Track Cycling)
  • Phil Kim (B-Boy Phil Wizard) - Men’s Breaking (Dance Sport)

The US women are going to try to become the first team to win with 30 tutnovers in a game. It’s amazing the game is tied.

the judges made the wrong decision there as well; that brit wasnt even active at that time in that race and should have been outside the lane (below the black line), he hindered the dutch cyclist…

lmao keep believing your delusional nonsense
lol the only thing you earned is the award of being cheaters at the best olympics ever! (but even there the french judges messed up and didnt ban you) so congrats you ended above uzbekistan

the usa did indeed manage to end up on top of the medal list thanks to a french basketballer who failed to equalise with a 3 pointer lol poor girl
final standings:

Looks like a tie for first in golds. I’ll go with most silvers as the tiebreaker ;).

lol yup congratulations!

Haha. Thanks. I watched about 15 minutes of the basketball game before doing yardwork. Women’s basketball is difficult to watch. The difference between men and women in sports they both play professionally has to up there in basketball as far as talent goes. I think some female tennis players might get a point against a top male tennis player, but I don’t think either of the female basketball teams could have scored a point against either men’s team from yesterday. They’d have a hard time getting a shot off.

Looks like no breaking in 2028 olympics.

poor canada, another gold medal gone

edit: nice… looking forward to flag football

" Flag football and squash have been approved as first-time additions in Los Angeles, while baseball, softball, lacrosse and cricket will be added after various lengths of absence. Lacrosse has not been an Olympic sport since 1908."

I agree those should all be sports. I like competitions that include any of the three.

alas the olympics have ended… the closing ceremony was nice with the standard musical and artsy performances and fireworks and an old tom cruise jumping off the ceiling promoted what we can expect at the next olympics in america lol
bit too long for me but most will probably have enjoyed it (maybe except for some religious nuts that found something to complain about the closing ceremony too lol)

it also had some refreshing new bits:

instead of always having the men’s marathon and men’s basketball as the last events of the olympics, they had the women’s events on the last day and in the closing ceremony they promoted the paralympics as the 2nd stage of the olympics

best bit was of course that they had the gold medal ceremony of the women’s marathon (with our dutch winner) in the middle of the closing ceremony

I see that russia was able to come away with a silver medal in women’s tennis doubles. Zero golds.

That’s a shame but no need to complain about it. The closing ceremony was uninspiring but better than the opening ceremony.

thats surprising but am glad to hear that their golden wasp coming to our planet to create a better place before ascending into heaven didnt offend you

At best, especially after making a mockery of the Last Supper, that was symbolic of Satan being cast to the earth and/or creatures ascending from the bottomless pit, which seems to be a global preference. You certainly seemed to embrace the performance.

I had to go read up on the little darling. Journalists are likening it to the Spirit of Bastille.

not really, for me that particular section with the golden wasp was too artsy

iam enjoying the fact that nobody seems to have any issues with this while so many decided to freak out over the opening ceremony

It’s obvious to me, the opening ceremony was a stain on God, recrucifying Him while the closing ceremony glorifies His enemy.
