„ In a 1978 interview with Playboy, Bryant claimed that she was moved to act because she believed those who wanted the right to not lose their job just because of their sexuality were thus “asking for special privileges that violated the state law of Florida, not to mention God’s law.”
“If gays are granted rights, next we’ll have to give rights to prostitutes and to people who sleep with St. Bernards and to nail biters.” ~Anita Bryant
She’s halfway home. Germany has 2,310 registered prostitution businesses. Do you bite your nails, Gunda? I won’t ask Nico about St. Bernards. I don’t want to know.
Not at all. I find it absolutely right to strengthen the rights of prostitutes, as they are the weakest in that exploitation chain. I am also for closing brothels and to punish the Johns, just like in Sweden. This would help preventing human trafficking and reduce prostitution altogether but not on the cost of the most vulnerable.
And in Canada. I remember telling you when you were here that Canada would never do anything so silly, and then we did. lol. I have to admit, it worked. Street prostitution no longer exists in Canada, for all intents & purposes.
Moving it inside is a change. A positive one. Our streets are generally devoid of this activity, now. I also think there has been a huge decline in the trade overall. All the traditional online marketplaces for sex have been shut down here. I know it still exists, but it is nothing like it used to be.
Untrue. Overwhelmingly, indoor prostitution in Canada is done by freelance women with no pimps or organized crime involved. Their risks still exist, but they are much lower than the risks that existed for women involved in street prostitution.
lol oh ok so those street prostitutes automatically became inside freelance businesswomen or they all moved to other countries and lived happily after … or just out of sight so it all worked out great… gotcha
The street prostitutes, generally very young, found other ways to survive. Older prostitutes, in vastly lower numbers, now service their small client bases out of their apartments.
You are not clever, Nico. You are also feeling very insecure for having been excluded from the recent conversations (your own fault for having nothing to say) so you’re heckling wildly. It’s quite boring.
Both. More than once. There was this one girl with a very unique Japanese tattoo on her arm. She was renting out her body on the street when I owned my data center in the area, and I asked her what the Japanese script meant. I forgot the answer, but she told me. After prostitution was banned here, I met her again working at a Tim Hortons (a Canadian coffee shop chain) and instantly recognized her tattoo. She remembered me and we chatted some more. She’ll never be rich or famous, but she’s got a decent life now. I’m happy to see that.
