New House

I just got this email from my condo association in Vancouver. I love where I live. lol.

“Strata Lot” is the legal term for condos in BC.

Vile.

I just love that they banned it not just on the balconies and common areas but even INSIDE your own condo. Screw their rights. I don’t care at all about anyone’s rights.

I’m for banning them completely. I find smoking arrogant. It contributes to higher health insurance costs. So, I want it eliminated completely.

It’s hard to enforce.

Maybe, Mark, but they’re trying. See below from the last meeting minutes from a few days ago. I obviously couldn’t attend as I’m stranded in SA but I get the minutes by email.

Is there a designated area for those who are smokers to smoke?
Does the place allow barbecue grills?

Yes. The Netherlands. Nowhere on my condo grounds, however.

No.

Any pest issues yet. I used to have tons of these red backed jumping spiders with black stripe and bright green fangs I loved along with other jumping spiders. Funnel web spiders and wolf spiders all seem to have disappeared. Occasionally an orb web, and then the spider population was this weak house spider population and several cellar spiders. Those remained and then there was this huge dominance of black widow spiders and I remember a few were extra strong and aggressive and vicious and would spin abnormally strong silk.

Now I have a lot of these around and almost nothing else. They looked like an inferior black widow but seem to upgrading their genetics. I could not believe the aggression I was able to observe on a few and the strongest spider silk I have ever felt.

I think this is the same spider used in the spider-man movie that caused the radioactive bite. The pattern is the same and body type. Maybe they colored it.

These are the strongest I have seen so far from what I thought originally as an inferior gene pool. They seem to get stronger with captivity. They do wonders with flying insects.

The bite was supposed to be radioactive, but in the film it was genetically modified.

Some odd behavior. Normally these kill each other in proximity or any web trespass. I have seen them maybe tolerate another with distance around buildings and fixtures. It is strange to see them huddled even with different species.image

Normally some populations cull their own herd so to speak.

Another group huddle. Why they all left their webbing and other crevices is beyond me. Maybe it is chemical maybe it something other than chemical.

What spiders do you have around home Dan? Do you use chemicals on them? Do you leave the webs? image

I’m not sure. I let them live. I might see one every other week.

Any other home pests? Ticks maybe?
Mites easily kill snakes.
