Life is not good

I just received the information from Renate Gantner, that her daughter, Gabriela Gantner, which currently is at our shelter Arche Faget in Faget, Romania, saw with her own eyes, how this puppy was being put in a latter bin to get rid of him. She of course took him into the shelter. What an immense luck this puppie had.

But so I have to add another typical horrid way of irresponsible humans to kill unwanted dogs and I don’t want to think about how often this happens each damn day: Throwing them alive into the latter bin. I don’t get this. Don’t such people think about the horror such an animal will feel?

Again. Humans are the problem. Not the dogs.

This is what often happens to street dogs. Sometimes it’s really hard not to hate. I have seen videos with people killing dogs in a terrible way and laughing while doing it.

I didn’t watch. I have no stomach for that kind of thing. It is hard to believe that a European country treats animals this way in 2024.

I can tell you that one of the reasons I love Colombia so much is the way they treat their street dogs. To even call them street dogs isn’t really accurate. They’re village dogs. The village looks after them. They’re never hungry because everyone is always feeding them. They’re never dirty because someone will wash them. They’re never lonely because everyone loves them. If one of them gets sick or injured, some respected member of the community will go around with a hat and collect cash to take the dog to the vet. Colombia may not be perfect but I will always love them for that.

I just gave our annual gift to Vokra (link) and I just sent €50 to Renate Gantner. I do not say this to be praised so please don’t. I just think we should all play some small part to help stop suffering. Gunda plays a much bigger part and I admire that.

i do not consider most of those slavic countries european, but asian

no praising here; i fear that as long as caring (but naive) people volunteer to help out those poor dogs instead of forcing their government to deal with it, this vicious circle will never stop

This video and the videos I only referred to in my post were all not from Europe but from Turkey, after Erdogan signed a law in 2024, which allows the killing of street dogs. Which was a release call for all the dog haters who sometimes filmed their torturing and killing and even bragged about it by posting those videos and pics on social media. Bilgehan Kranda is a German of Turkish descent and is active in dog street rescue here (for a different German help Organisation than mine). I met her once, as she lives not far from me. I also know one Turkish homosexual guy on Facebook, who is all alone in his effort to help those dogs. I wonder where he gets all his energy for that. I would be long dead from exhaustion and also mentally. I usually avoid watching such videos, even from my own Organisation but simply focus on the help I can do. But this video by Kranda slipped through my „security control“ and opened and so I watched it.

So, thank you very, very much for your help, Reggie. I really appreciate that, especially as we aren‘t friends. But that shouldn‘t be in the way when it comes to help innocent creatures, animals or humans. :handshake:

ah turkey so not slavish… my mistake

It isn’t in the way at all. Frohes Neues Jahr, Gunda.

Ein gutes, gesundes und glückliches neues Jahr auch für Dich, Reggie.

I don‘t know why you repeat this, Nico. You think if we would stop our help, then those countries will step up? I don‘t see any reason for them to spend money.

Our Organisation or rather our own shelter Arche Faget in the small town of Faget is now known in that Region, for that at least some people bring their not wanted dogs to us or call us. Some accept our offer for free neutering of their dogs. Even some Romas, who unfortunately often justify our negative prejudice, brought us dogs. Most unfortunately have no patience or understanding, when we are full or need time for the quarantine units to get empty. One Roma took out an axe from his car and threatened to kill his dog if we don‘t take the dog in right now instead of waiting till we have the place. Jesus, you have no clue what‘s going on there each day. Adriana, which is a young Romanian worker and more, even rescued puppies on her way to her own wedding and regularly keeps many dogs in her own, old, shabby house, out of love and despair. She couldn‘t sleep if she would pass by without helping. But it all comes down to money. And if you don‘t have to say anything positive, then simply shut your mouth. Because I am so close to call you names I never have. Not because you hurt me, but because you insult and blame people, no heros like Adriana and Renate Gantner and her family, who I admire like I don‘t respect any other person. You made your position clear. Thank you very much.

yes i think it would greatly improve the chances of those countries stepping up…the more misery; the more pressure from other countries

of course there is no reason now for them to spend money since volunteers basically take care of it for them

i think its very positive what i have to say and i dont mind, call me all the names you want, doesnt bother me or change (what i see as) reality

i think the most harm is often done by passionate caring (naive) people

you are very welcome and yes you made your position clear as well
if you dont bring it up again i likely wont share my position either?

Nico, from now on I won‘t talk to you anymore. You aren‘t worth it.

This is because you are stupid, Nico.

Ok done.

This is because you are stupid, Nico. Done again.

Gunda, please ignore Nico and bring it up often. Your message really resonates with me and with Isa who I have shared it with. She would do anything to help dogs. We are not rich but if we can help this Turkish homosexual, or perhaps Bilgehan Kranda, we will do what we can.

lol ok, happy new year and enjoy your life

impressive lol

I have a nice little garden shed out of wood and metal to store garden stuff like for example tools, season decorations and bird food. Unfortunately mice found their way into it as well due to narrow (but obviously not narrow enough) ventilation gaps. Several items got already destroyed due to bites like pillows and even worse, everything has been pissed and pooped upon.

It still takes months till it’s dry outside again for that these gaps can be closed by a craftsman (I need to put everything inside out and clean every damn single thing).

But I really have a problem to put up a mousetrap, as I hate to kill that mouse or rather these mice for nothing. I rather wish their death would serve a purpose, like to feed a hungry owl or weasel. And I actually see one mouse every morning at the bird seed place, when it‘s still rather dark outside and barely a bird is already there. I like that mouse. I seriously want even to place an old tennis ball I found outside the tennis court right beside my apartment, to cut a tiny hole into it for a nest for „my“ wild mouse in the garden. Again, if it gets eaten by another animal, well, that‘s bloody life. But for nothing. That‘s the reason why I still haven‘t bought this mouse trap. I mean, if I would have vegetables that mouse would eat, then I also wouldn‘t have a problem with killing it. But just because the craftsman who built this shed made a silly mistake? I feel guilty for the silliest things, lol.

That’s why I worry about using poison. What if a pet eats it.

Yes, please never use poison. So many other animals (wild as well as pets) die by eating a poisoned rodent.

nice, most people would see “protecting their property” as enough reason to kill those cute little rodents

perhaps you could make a little area especially for these mice where they can eat lol

Gunda, people will come to your property with a rodent dog, a monitor lizard, or a weasel or mink trained to kill rodents and they are very efficient. Over 100 an hour sometimes. Not price, but killed rodents by a ferret.

See who offers ferret services. .look up some videos

Chickens too!

Fake it until you’ve made it I suppose.
Reg probably knows this one. It is what it is. Imagination. Pretending. Anything better than focusing on the reality.
Ummm…
