Life is not good

Gross, cruel and inhumane, not to mention a disruption to owls and weasels in the food chain. You could try a sticky trap but that is a bit cruel as well since a mouse will chew its feet off to survive. Perhaps you could invest in peppermint at the vent opening.

Iā€˜ll give it a try. Peppermint and Cayenne pepper. Thanks.

I’m signed up for two hikes next weekend, two different days, two different locations. One is bird watching and the other is a cleanup. I have hiked with this group before on just a plain nature hike.
I am hoping neither or both are cancelled due to sewage levels

Life could be better. Life will be good.

Another fire in California, this one very close to where I live and spreading to over 1000 acres. There is actually an evacuation center set up near by.
I’m sure these are intentionally set. I’m hoping it doesn’t spread further and I have to evacuate.

Also those bird species and even the plant habitats. I can’t just say the immigrants or homeless as it could have been anyone who started the blaze. We are also too tolerant of illegal fireworks here

Insurance companies are cancelling policies in Arizona. That tells you where the fires are going.

At least thats what all my 3 housemates likely are thinking right now, while besieging me at my desk having breakfast (bread with pepper salami slices). They had their breakfast already, though. :upside_down_face:

You look like you can’t get a tablespoon past those pearly gates of yours Gunda.
What are you asking for with the animals as they don’t seem to able or willing to ask for you.

I just got startled due to loud bird crys outside in my garden. I knew what it probably meant. The sparrowhawk caught some bird. It was a starling bird, lying on his back and trying to pick the sparrow hawk with his beakon off his chest. This terrible death fight lasted minimum 3, 4 minutes. This might sound cold hearted, but I didn’t try to help the starling bird, as the sparrowhawk is hungry too. So blame the one or the natural forces which created this sad process, that one creature only survives by killing another. I just wish that killing would go quick like a finger snap.

I made a video too, but its good I cant upload it due to the hefty crying of the starling.

This is an ugly world.

Oh, stop. It’s a natural food chain. May the hawk feast until it’s eaten by bigger animal game.

Sure, but it’s very, very brutal. And according to your religion, this was created by your God, no? Do you think your God is a good or a bad one?

This world has much beauty and much joy, but even more ugliness, suffering and misery. My time here is winding down slowly. I’d guess I have 20 years left. 30 if I’m unlucky. I’m ready. I love my life and I believe I have been successful in creating a nearly perfect life for this universe, but I do not want it to go on forever. I might if it was better designed, but it’s not.

A better designer would’ve created a world with far less life, which didn’t depend on the death of others to exist. We would each get our time, live as long as we chose, and then would die. Or perhaps instead of however long we chose, perhaps we would each get exactly the same amount of time. It would be elegant if we each got, say, 100 years. And instead of eating the dead bodies of animals or plants, we could eat rain or oxygen. Or not eat at all. We could just be powered by a battery that lasts exactly 100 years. And we wouldn’t get pleasure from licking the areas we urinate out of. That’s just weird.

God would’ve flunked design engineering.

You tell me. He created the rain that we need to grow fruit which also brings floods. Is God good or bad?

If your God exists, he is either bad and a sadist or just sucks in his job, being unable (or unwilling) to correct his flawed design even after those many billions of years.

Well, He created you flawed so you would have purpose so perhaps He is unwilling to correct His design.
And what if He created you for His Will and your focus on his existence distracted you from His Will. You will miss your purpose for such a time as this.

First, I wanted to post this in the ā€œLife is goodā€-thread, as the dog survived. But no. It actually sucks beyond any word, that a pet, created by mankind, has to suffer like that. I hate that person who is responsible. May you have to endure the same and worse, for that you also get a punishment.

100%.

The truth is that the human race would be far better off if we trimmed off about 10% of us. I don’t care if people say that makes me sound like Hitler.

That said, your outrage about starving dogs is a bit jarring given how little you care for the lives of starving Palestinian children. I know, I know, blame Hamas. Yawn.

You are an arse for abusing the suffering of this dog and negate it by drawing a comparison with the starving of Palestinian children. And you are wrong as so often.

Contrary to you I do care for those children. I have no hidden agenda unlike you. Thats why I post against Hamas and criticize Netanjahu for his settler policy. And Western as well as Muslim Countries for supporting both without a real goal for a sustaining peace for both sides.

You lie to yourself, Gunda. You don’t care at all about that starving little girl. You say that you do. You even say that to yourself. You might even believe it. But the truth is, if feeding her means condemning Israel for their genocide, you would let her die.

My heart breaks for that dog, but it breaks even more for the children of Palestine.
