This is hopeful. Without US weapons, Israel clearly can’t do much, and with the tide turning in American politics against Israel, perhaps they will have more difficulty perpetrating genocide.

That was exhausting. I struggled to get through it. I don’t want appear anti-empathetic. I understand these detainees have been through 40 days of sleepless nights. Do you think Hamas feeds Israeli hostages? I’m thankful they were given food and water and that their time in isolation was short but I can’t help but wonder if the hostages are being fed or given water. I’m thinking probably not much since we know some have died in captivity. Idk if by starvation or a bullet to the face but I know some have died. Being blindfolded must have been terrifying to wish death would come when we are wired to fight for life. I wonder if the 
hostages have been blindfolded. I can’t imagine living that way indefinitely.
My anti-empathetic side seems to take over when I read how the media is magnifying their trauma to unspeakable levels. It is offensive for media to portray this as revenge when the IDF is looking for terrorists involved in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel and even though it will probably disappoint Amnesty International I doubt Israel will “end their indefinite, incommunicado detention of Palestinians from the occupied Gaza Strip.”

i didnt see any in their statement; they simply said that it was not their intention to show disrespect to any religious group and that they felt sorry for those (silly intolerant people) that did (wrongly feel that way)
