Yes of course, but I donât need 1000 watts to do that. To talk in the local area up to 100 km or so (say 60 miles), you never need more than 100 watts. 1000 watts is for guys who want to talk to Japan. Even when I do want to talk to Japan, I try to do it with just a few watts. Itâs a bigger challenge.

How do you talk to Japan with less watts if it takes a thousand watts to communicate that far away?
I can talk to Japan with 5 watts sometimes. Itâs just much harder to do. I prefer the challenge.
I am, actually. I created this site (itâs not finished yet) and hope to release it soon to help others get their advanced certifications. I hope that I can play a small part in increasing radio skills in the world so that, if we ever do face the apocalypse and all the satellites go down, we can still communicate.
We are already in the apocalypse and have been for 7 years.
The Burnaby Amateur Radio Club had an interesting event that Erika and I attended today. Hams Across the Border. We met at Peace Arch Park at the border crossing between BC and Washington. American hams parked on their side and Canadian hams parked on our side and we all walked in to the park and had a nice gathering. Some kind souls brought coffee and cookies. A good time.

Yes, lol. They are old but not as fat as the Grizzlies. They have all passed a fairly difficult test to become ham radio operators, too, so they are all reasonably high IQ.

This will be of no interest to anyone here but whatever, if Gunda can post Lucifer and Springsteen videos, I can at least post something useful. Iâve updated my master Frequency List to include a Scan List for emergencies. Perhaps someone will find us on Google and click it. No regular on this site will care about this at all.
I admit, Gundaâs Lucifer clips are much more entertaining, mostly because I have no idea what I was reading when I clicked on your emergency list. It might as well have been in Chinese.
