Yes, you whined about my posts in music and tv threads.
Thatâs better than being a herpie.
You posted something useful for you. I didnât benefit from it so it wasnât useful to me. Perhaps if you had been more detailed about who it was useful for.
Itâs only useful for those in the Vancouver area who want to listen to various radio frequencies.
How does that work, Reg? The higher the frequency the more users it reaches?
No, it means you take a test, buy a ham radio, and you can talk to the thousands of others in your area who also passed the test and bought radios. It also means you can listen to the pilots talk to the tower on Air Band, you can listen to the ships on Marine Band, you can listen to the train operators on Railway Band and so on. You canât transmit on those last three bands, but you can listen.
BBAD continues to get a lot of page views, although only a few of us post. Thereâs some chance someone will google âVancouver Frequency Listâ and weâll come up. Really, though, I just liked my little document and wanted to post it, much like you post your Telegram stuff and Gunda posts whatever her latest obsession is.
If I would be obsessed by Springsteen, I would have all the albums, went to concerts each time he goes on tour etc. Regarding Lucifer/Tom Ellis, in that case I wouldnât have cancelled Amazon. If twitching and posting a YouTube video each day is already obsession, so is you still reading those posts and posting your dislike over them even on other threads obsession too. Just like your hate posts of Pit Bulls, Feminism and Israel. And your boring Ham Radio.
I am obsessed with Ham Radio. This I admit. lol.
So you can listen to police and firefighters talk?
My âobsessionâ is the news through Telegram. Gundaâs obsession a desire to go to Hell with Tom Ellis. Obsessing over a radio is completely exceptable.
No, they encrypted those a few years ago. You can learn a lot about whatâs going on in your area from the other services, though.
Yes.
Oh, yeah, probably so and good to know. Around here, we just ask the next person that walks in the store.
Evening Reg. I recognize the effort as a last-ditch effort in a foreseen inevitable breakdown in communication to despair, isolation, and loneliness.
Itâs like I Am Legend.
Doesnât it attract zombies in the movies? Donât those seem to just drain the life and soul from individuals trying to coexist?
Hi Mark. Hope youâre doing well.
Weâll talk about that.
The odds are high they wonât know. Finding information in a true emergency is rarely simple.
Not if you know where to look. Not if you have some kind of connection to emergency personnel, or their friends and family, within your county.
That is so wrong. lol.
People in North Carolina during Helene may have had a brother in the fire department but they had no communications with anyone for weeks.
True, they were isolated so having a Ham Radio wouldnât do them much good beyond letting them know if more bad weather was expected.
Again, you are so wrong. lol.
People with ham radios learned where to get food and water. They learned which roads were closed and which were still open. They learned when the emergency transport buses would arrive and which public buildings had been converted into public dormitories for those whose homes were destroyed. They were able to find out which hospitals were still open and which had been forced to close.
Most importantly, if things got desperate, they were able to call for help.
Ham radio is more than weather reports, Michele. Youtube is full of hams who survived Helene. You should watch some of their videos.
Oh, sure so they can jump in their water resistant Teslas and run down to the local pigly wiggly.
You should post some.
Just because you only admit to that one obsession of yours, doesnât mean you donât have also other obsessions like bestiality and trolling me on meaningless topics like music and tv series. To name just a few of your many obsessions, silly.
No wonder you are so dishonest in communication with people, if you are dishonest even to yourself to feel better.
