I use radio constantly about 160 hours a month. I have relied on two way radio for over 2 decades.

That’s commercial radio, not ham, but it’s very similar. It’s amazing how truly useful radio still is in many applications.
You can’t talk on certain networks you are not an actual part of.
I used morse code send/receive on radio when I was a very young child.
