There are lots of accessories for Zello out there that emulate a ham radio. I loved the idea of Zello but it takes 2 to tango and nobody else I know cares so I never use it.

Just got my FT3D from Ham Radio Outlet in the US. It was cheaper and faster to buy from them and pay the import tax than buy from Yaesu in Canada which is stupid.
It wasnât Willâs thing if I recall. Weâll see if itâs mine.
Minor update: Iâm totally in love with the FT3D. I wish I had had this while waiting out quarantine in Colombia, although Iâm not legally allowed to transmit there. So far, I have programmed in all the local repeaters, all the local broadcast radio stations, all the major simplex frequencies, the International Space Station repeaters (so I can theoretically talk to the astronauts), the CB bands, the FRS/GMRS bands, the air bands so I can listen to the big jets talking to the airport and each other, the marine bands (pleasure, commercial and coast guard), the weather bands (24/7 weather updates), and the admittedly dead major shortwave frequencies. I could spend the rest of my life listening to bs on the radio. Easily, by far, the best radio I have ever owned.
It looks like a Walkie Talkie. Iâm not impressed much. Maybe if you record a conversation with a Space Man and play it back for us I can become a believer.
