, Japan, and the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic probably has the best team, but USA has better pitchers. Japan beat USA in the finals 4 years ago.

lol no i dont enjoy skiing and i didnt even know paralympics were going on but for a dutchie to win gold at such an event is pretty special

Most of the great pitchers are not pitching because MLB starts in about 2 weeks. I think the Dominican Republic will win now. They seem to choke in this though. This is only the 6th WBC. Japan won in 2006, 2009 and 2023. DR won in 2013. USA won in 2017. That’s it. Venezuela is probably 4th best. No other country really has a chance. Israel was already eliminated. I think Canada and the Netherlands have, too.
I’m surprised either country has a team there. Baseball is total non-news here.

Italy beat USA. Doubtful USA advances at this point.
Not only did Canada advance, they won their group. They had Cuba and Puerto Rico, so it wasn’t a pathetic group.
Apparently, the USA team was so stupid that they thought they had gotten through group play and were hungover against Italy. The manager was so stupid that he didn’t even know at the presser after the game. They basically need Italy to beat Mexico tonight. If Mexico wins and scores more than 4 runs, USA is out. If Italy scores 4 runs, they could purposely give up 5 runs and both Italy and Mexico would advance. I would do that, since USA probably has a better team.
Since it doesn’t seem like Canada cares about this, I guess I’ll root for DR.
