I have decided to boycott all professional sports minus the super bowl. The Portland trailblazers just signed Damian Lillard to 4 yrs/ 196 million. I don’t think he’s top 10. It’s gotten too out of control. Time for sports to die.

I haven’t boycotted but I totally get you. I follow F1 through habit, nothing more. I hope Serena wins 26 and Tiger wins 19, but I don’t really care. I enjoy watching the Colombia national team play soccer but that’s a social thing and if I lost it, I wouldn’t care. Same for Team Canada in hockey. The Raptors won the first NBA championship for Canada and I didn’t care at all. Really, I just wouldn’t care if all professional sports ended tomorrow.
PS: Why exempt the Superbowl?

Dan, does your boycott include things like the World Cup and Olympics where professional athletes compete in technically amateur events?
Surely synchronized swimming is not included in your boycott Dan.

Oh no. I’m just against the leagues. This soccer tournament is fun. I like the English coach. After losing to USA, he was asked about playing in the consolation game and was quite forthcoming saying he will probably play the Netherlands since Sweden should beat them, lol.
Women’s beach volleyball is pleasing to watch.

I am not following this cup but I am torn between my dislike of the Dutch (I miss Thinki as he was an excellent outlet for that) and my dislike of Hope Solo.
Hope solo is no longer on the us team…she is now only known for whining about the coach.

Mostly thinki if I’m telling the truth. lol. I don’t actually dislike them. I just enjoy saying I do. And I do really like that song. “The Dutch! the Dutch! I hate them worse than dogs! They live in windmills and mince about in clogs!!”
I just asked my woman if she wanted to watch the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday instead of the Copa America men’s final between Brasil and Peru. She said, “Oh, I didn’t realize the women’s world cup was on. I don’t care who wins.”
Edited to add: I was feeling argumentative and decided to go back and point out she doesn’t care who wins the Copa America final either (since Colombia is out and Chile, who beat Colombia, is also out). She still wouldn’t miss it and still doesn’t care at all about the women’s cup.

I like the woman’s team this year. Mallory Pugh might be the most attractive athlete in the world these days. I also can’t tell, nor care to know about her ethnicity. Kind of cool.
What a comeback. Enjoying this run. I can watch sports where money is not guaranteed. Not sure how much money she had before this run. Good enough to make it to Wimbledon. Enough money for her parents to get there.
I wonder why there are so many black women in tennis but no black men.
Because black women are ball busters and black men are pigeon toed cup holders.
The black guys are French, but Federer, Nadal and djokovic have just been so dominant.
Lots of black women from USA and correct no males, but in general the American men have stunk since Sampras was dominating.
