That my Amazons Alexa now only plays random songs by an artist, has one advantage. I learn new songs I haven‘t heard before, lol. Love this one.
Just made me a rare cause unhealthy breakfast, for which I crave for once or twice a year and this only tastes that good in the morning and with hot coffee. That‘s why I do that only for breakfast.
Thin german bread slices roasted in butter (not burning any part!) with a bit of salt on one side. Eaten fresh out of the pan. Yummie.
Again, without that Alexa change, I might not have stumbled over another song I never heard of Springsteen. A duet with this singer. So I dived a bit into his songs and read up a bit. Jesus, he is 3 years older than me and looks like maximum 40. His voice and music style isn‘t spectacular, but I like his reduced music style and the story telling very much, the whole package. He reminds me a bit on Josh Ritter.
A friend of mine wants me to join her for New York or some small town (forgot the name) on the East Coast of Canada. In both places she has a friend which migrated many years ago. My friend is ten years older and would like to meet them again before any health problem gets into that way.
I am very reluctant, because I wouldn’t want to go without my dog. Jamie is small enough to be allowed to keep her on my lap during flights. But I don‘t know if she really would enjoy that trip just to be with me or rather prefers to stay mostly alone at home for that whole time. Just taking out for short walks twice a day to do her businesses by my landlord. I also would be very restricted in New York regarding transport systems, attending some event. Shopping wouldn‘t be any problem, because I hate to do that anyway. Also, my yearning for different countries or even just cities is long gone. Now mainly the stress and work which comes with traveling is on my focus. I rather save my money for a few wellness days to relax not far away.
I have travelled many times with pets. I am not aware of any airline in the world that will let you take your dog out and sit on your lap in the plane. The general rule is if the pet is more than 8 kilos, it must travel in the cargo hold. Under 8 kilos, the pet must be in an approved carrier that fits under the seat in front of you, and the pet can not be taken out of the carrier at any point during the flight. It will also cost you between $100 and $200 for each flight (not each trip), and you will need a vet certificate both ways so you’ll have to attend a vet in the US or Canada as well as one in Germany. That generally costs $200 each time as well.
Animal abuse! If you leave your dog behind she will only be allowed out twice a day but if you take her with you she will be in a cage the whole time? Maybe you should not go.
Where did you get this idea she would be in a cage the whole time of my staying in New York or Canada? She wouldn‘t be in a cage there even for a second.
From Reg, who stated you could not have a dog on your lap in the plane and if you don’t keep your animal in a cage in New York she will probably be BBQ’d.
On flights, yes. But that‘s it.
A song for switching on the tempomat while driving and not stopping till the coast of Bretagne shows up.
There are a few wishes left unfulfilled. And I wished, Uli was still there. Nevertheless, some wishes were granted as well, for which I am very thankful for. But this drive I am going to do once as well.
I actually thought my yearning to see certain places is over for good, but this drive to Bretagne and the coast of Normandie to see the WWII memorials, is the only travel wish I actually have left. Not sure if there is also a German soldiers cemetery as well, but this would be nice. Then maybe further down south towards the Dune du Pilat and then back home. This depends how long I want to stay up north. All In a camping van. Also, it would be easy to take my dog along with me in a camper. Next year end of September, when the mass tourism is over.
Come to think of it, most travels I did in my life were the ideas of other people, except New Zealand. So, I will grant me this wish on my bucket list first, before I only help others again to fulfill theirs. And way less stress for me and Jamie either.
Never liked that song. What a difference it makes to me when a nice piano replaces this ugly squeezing electronic guitar and a nicer accent finds it’s way into my ears.
I still don‘t get the meaning of that song, though. Will check that out after work.
you culture barbarian! thats a classic bob dylan song but jimmy’s version is the one you want!
its about the vietnam war and how ignorant people were about it
edit: or not lol apparently its bob dylan complaining about his management: “its an allegory of the entertainment business, with artists exploited by managers”
Lol!
I actually assumed it‘s about being doped.
Terribly kitschy lyrics. But I am in the mood for those silly lyrics. Thankfully I can stay in bed as long and often I want next week.
good moaning!
interesting song from their latest album, perhaps this will make some more people notice her beautiful voice
Whitney was a precious American jewel. It is beyond tragic that she lost her life to drugs.
