It has more to do with the person walking into a hospital that has not been vaccinated but could have been. I was not referring to the er, but I can see how that was unclear.
I would have no trouble at all with a policy of “no vaccine, no access to normal hospitals, go to this special leper/covid-friendly hospital 100 miles away”.
that could make sense if it was known that those that have been vaccinated do not spread the virus anymore and if you are willing to completely lock your own country and prevend all foreigners to come in…
it will take at least several years before all people in all countries get an opportunity to get vaccinated
Very simple solution to that: foreigners who can show a vaccine passport with an approved vaccine can come in. Those who can’t, can’t. This already happens today with Yellow Fever vaccine in many countries including Jamaica.
there should be a detention facility 100 miles away from we for people with simple solutions
with a hole into which the detainees can shit
because i am not a monster
but no tents
tents are for people who deserve them
It is possible you could open it up to foreigners, since everyone in your country has had the opportunity to be vaccinated.
If someone can get the vaccine, not get sick but still spread it, it is on the individual that either didn’t get the vaccine or decided to fly to a foreign country unvaccinated. There would probably be more cons to locking down foreigners but you could still require it.
PS
Looks like the USA will take longer than anyone lol. We just lost 20 million doses. They might be in Oklahoma.
The thing is, you don’t have to open it up to ALL foreigners. Just the ones who can show a valid vaccine passport. Speaking for myself in my country, I would have no problem with letting foreigners in if they have been vaccinated. We have no data but it is intuitively obvious that if you can’t get the disease, you are unlikely to spread the disease.
Things are starting to fray around the edges of the lockdown.
