You need more than just money to have children. You need to have life.

Depends where they move. I lived for 4 years in a tiny village in the high Andes called Mosquera. A car would’ve been a total waste of time and money there. We walked everywhere. It was a wonderful lifestyle. Sometimes I wish we had never left.

Cali is opening up. They’re Colombia’s 3rd largest city. They are allowing restaurants and many other businesses to open. Still no news about Bogotá or Medellín. I admit, I’m starting to go a bit crazy being locked down. Tomorrow we begin our third weekend curfew in a row. If you go outside, you get arrested. This is seriously harsh.
I have been self-isolating since February. Thankfully I go out about once a month to run the truck around. I’m sure I would feel differently if I could be arrested for going out. Do the cartels still exist or some form of them?
Definitely, they still exist, as does corruption at absurd levels. A former president, Alvaro Uribe, killed a lot of them and he wasn’t overly concerned about due process in doing so. They just arrested him yesterday with plans to charge him for some of his crimes. A lot of people sympathize with him. 25 years ago, I could not have lived safely in this city. Today I can. It goes against everything I believe in but maybe he was right. I’m honestly not sure.
The current president (Duque) appears soft on drugs. He’s a conservative and talked the talk but as soon as he got in power he did nothing. I’m not sure if they threatened his family or what but we were all expecting a war on drugs and instead we got, well, nothing at all.

Me too. I see no reason to risk it. I’m diabetic and have hypertension and while I’m quite healthy, I’m still in a high risk group. It’s just a very different feeling when you can’t go out for fear of the police. They have a system where the day of the week you can go to the grocery store is based on the last digit of your ID. Erika and I have different last-digits so we can’t even go to the store together. We can share the same bed but we can’t go to the store together on the one day per week we’re permitted out. I don’t want to come across like a whiner. We’re healthy and don’t lack for anything. It’s just hard to take.

I don’t care about fashion but this is interesting because China appears to be opening up at levels not seen elsewhere.
I hope they are not going back to neckties. Apparently the Colombian Necktie is similar to the Sicilian Necktie, but not exactly. Colombian ties might protrude from under the jaw versus Sicilian which is lower on the neck, but I wouldn’t know for sure.
They never went into detail probably because nobody knew so much about ties concerning the OJ case. Could have been a game changer. Maybe too sensitive even in a murder case.
Of course with The Strain and Venom they are obsolete.
