omg Brillianter! It’s rare to hear something completely new at Christmas, and even more rare to hear something this pretty.
These aren’t new but they’re still magic. The first one (Amazing Grace) isn’t really even a Christmas song but whatever, I always play it at Christmas.
Didn’t manage to visit a Christmas Market this year. Watching Nalfs video made up a bit for the missed Glühwein and Rostbratwürste. Now I need to get up, have breakfast and then I am going to pack my stuff to hit the road to my family.

Just drove home from Christmas dinner at a friend’s place. Earlier in the afternoon, we had dropped by a friend who was in the hospital. She had a motorcycle accident and may lose her leg, but she’s strong and in good spirits. Somewhere along the drive home, as Isa and I chatted about the Christmas season, it dawned on both of us that this was the best Christmas either of us had ever had. We didn’t get or give many gifts and nothing spectacular happened. We’re just truly blessed to be well respected in a community where we have a lot of friends.

This was the Christmas concert we went to on Christmas Eve. A pretty ending. I’m told the singer is 16 years old. She has a bright future ahead. It’s a tiny bit out of sync but whatever. For a production from a small local Surrey church, they’re amazing. Actually, remove the condition. They’re just amazing.

I had a nice Christmas. Very little drama. I hosted on Christmas eve. We usually do. I was off. We only had 8 people, instead of 12. We all ate at the same table. I made a holiday trivia game, which was quite difficult. My wife wrapped a box 7 times with wrapping paper. We passed it around in a circle. You have to try to open it with oven mitts. The person next to you rolls a die. Once they roll a 6, your turn is over. There is a scratch ticket inside. You win when you open the box. It ended up having a value of $0.
Yesterday, I went to my inlaws. The gift giving is a little over the top for the little ones, but it is what it is. It was fine. Easy day.
The year was not great, but nobody died that I was close to. I know a few people that I look at and say, “I’m glad I don’t have their life.” I’m not sure if I have goals for next year yet.
My best friend is 40. She had a baby a week ago. Definitely some worry, but exciting.
