This is stupid. Look at him. His jeans are clean and not torn, and he has a jacket on with a clean shirt with a collar. You could get into any restaurant in Vancouver dressed like that. Yes, FIDE has the right to have and enforce their dress code but they seem to have lost sight of the fact that they are fading quickly into irrelevance. And yes he said āf youā but his interview was balanced and not unhinged at all.
I also note that, if he had a womanās dress on, nobody would dare to kick him out.

This situation is complex. The rules are clearly stupid and should be changed. The rules were clearly violated. Violations were not consistently enforced. If you let Magnus play, you get accused of inconsistently applying the rules. If you donāt let him play, you get accused of draconian enforcement of stupid rules. I donāt envy anyone their role here.

One of them forfeited against Niemann, when he didnāt show up. He claims he overslept, which is untrue. Heās possibly the best blitz player in the world. Bold stance. He didnāt make the final 8. They should have probably let all 10 compete.
