Chess

If you can get into the habit of selling off junk, your life will be vastly better. Most people your age are still accumulating junk they will have to throw away later in life.

My parent’s basement is a disaster. Better to get rid of it now. Its not going to be as easy cleaning basements out when I’m 70.

After 9 draws, carlsen won his last 2 matches to reach a playoff. Unless it is blitz, his opponent is screwed. 94 straight matches without a loss.

It’s a blitz playoff and apparently, it is going on right now. Not waiting until tomorrow.

Oh. They are playing tomorrow. Nevermind.

lol. It’s perverse. I really like Carlsen these days but I hope he loses just to shake things up. He’s totally dominant right now.

Ding won the blitz. Carlsen is still unbeaten in 94 classical matches.

Congrats to Ding, Liren.

I had to google him as I had never heard of him. Interestingly, he has had a longer unbeaten streak than Carlsen.

ā€œDing was undefeated in classical chess from August 2017 to November 2018, recording 29 victories and 71 draws. This 100-game unbeaten streak is the longest in top-level chess history.ā€

The Chinese aren’t known for chess but there’s no reason they shouldn’t become a force these days.

Good article. Long. At least a 5 minute read. I found it interesting

That was fascinating. I never thought of it before but there are no fat chess players. This explains why.

Very few. I think one russian is amazingly, but the rest are rail thin. I don’t think it is healthy to have a heart rate like that when you aren’t moving. My resting pulse is in the 80s, so to me that is a little high. There’s must be very high during play. Most of them are also not from the USA, so they would be naturally thinner.

6000 calories a day. I couldn’t eat 4000.

I am determined to get down to 176 lbs (80 kilos) so I am eating under 1000 cals per day lately. Normally I eat between 1500 and 2000. Like you, I couldn’t eat 4000 without forcing myself to gorge uncomfortably, unless it was all ice cream in which case I could probably eat 6000.

I just saw this from three weeks ago. Definitely physics!

I’m not sure if it’s realistic but teaching good eating habits should probably be a thing. I ate stupidly when I first lived on my own and I’m not blaming school for that but I could definitely have benefited from some better information on that. Honestly I thought fast food was just how you ate for the first few years of my adulthood.

Comparative Religion should be taught, too, but it’s too controversial a subject for current society. Most people aren’t yet ready to learn that Jesus Christ is just an evolution of other stories including Dionysus, Mithra, Osiris and Horus.

Anyway, I have no power and never will so none of this stuff will ever get taught. lol.

This is excellent and I usually don’t like chocolate based ice cream. It has monkfruit in it which is all the rage right now. It doesn’t taste light or healthy lol. It was probably expensive. I will look at price next time.

Balls! Full bore fatty real chocolate for me. Butter pecan too.

It’s $2.99 per pint. It better not be seasonal.

At that price, I would be buying that stuff in significant quantities if it was available here.

They also have a cookies and cream, which was good but not as good.

I didn’t realize it was an anti inflammatory. I will get some more for sure.

I’ve actually put it in my calendar to investigate this when I’m back in Canada. Some say it’s even good for blood sugar.
