Cars

I agree that there are going to be some good deals on cars coming.

i think 12K miles/year used to be average.

I’m not sure how long modern cars last. I’d guess longer than cars from my youth. Maybe 200k miles is ok for a car these days. I’m honestly not sure.

Nor I. My 25 year old truck has 142K on it. Low mileage! lol

That’s amazingly low. 5500 miles a year or so.

Yep. Should outlast me. I have high mileage on this body.

That car was already sold!

Wow! What was it that the car needed?

If I recall, it needed only a windshield and was going for $1700. Call it $500 for the windshield and maybe another $500 for a minor tuneup and it would probably go for awhile. Honda parts are cheap. It had a lot of miles, though. Over 200k.

200K would cause me some caution.

Yes, me too. I’d rather spend a bit more on something a bit less used. I also wouldn’t be in a hurry unless I really needed a car right now. As months pass, there are going to be more desperate people.

True. Better deals are coming. When I was going through my Miata lust I found many with less than 10K. Used.

Of course you won’t be going to Home Depot in a Miata.

Sure you could. Here’s a photo of me using one of my old BMW convertibles as a truck. lol.

LOL! And you can’t stand sloppy wiring. You must have been mortified. .lol

Just checked my email. Classic Mazda 0% financing, no payment for 90 days.

Nah, I did that type of thing all the time. I bought that car for about $3k with 200k miles on it. Used it and loved it for years and years.

Pretty good buy then.

It was a great buy, but as with anything well used, you have to be prepared to sink some cash into it. Not that much. A couple of thousand a year or so.

Yeah you never get off scot free. But then no payments either so not as painful.
