Cars

Hmm.

Ok, I need to go have my morning shower at 11 am. Back later.

No wait, forget that last one. This one instead. Ok ok, gone showering now.

better make it a cold shower.

Clean now. And sane. Or saner. I realized it’s better to take my own advice and spend a bit more and get something I really like. Those other two cars were cheap but they had serious problems. This one is perfect for $11k.

That was not me that bought it lol. I just didn’t want to buy a car with 204000. It has a Honda engine so might go another 100000. It wasn’t totally the miles. I just don’t need a different car right now.

I did look at miatas around here. Only found 1 standard for 6000. It’s a 2002. Mileage was somewhere around 95000. It was in a front end accident in 2018 and supposedly fixed but the paint is not great. It was nice of him to admit that, although you can probably see the paint damage. I would not buy a car without a clean title at all.

It is now a little past noon. I have had two showers and surfed used cars which I can’t buy because I’m in the wrong country. Curfew is not good for my productivity.

EDIT: I am totally in love with that Z4 for $11k. Maybe it’s good I’m not in Canada right now. The VW would be toast.

Beautiful car.

My car has 132000 now. Never had a recall. I’ve already gotten my money’s worth. Might as well keep going.

That’s exactly right. If it’s a commuter and you don’t have plans to do anything with it, why change?

For me, it’s about the toy factor, and even then things are so uncertain in the world that I’m not going to act quickly. If the world recovers nicely, maybe I might do something, but I won’t be stupid about it.

I agree Dan. I assume you no longer have payments on the car. Keep it maintained and enjoy one less headache.

Volvo is going completely electric with a chinese company. So, I would never buy a car from them at this point.

I seem to recall Volvo was about to go bankrupt like Saab but a Chinese company bought them. Pity, I owned a Volvo once when they were made in Sweden and it was a great car. Never owned a Saab although I always liked them and now it’s too late. They were never really my style though. You had to be a bit of a hippy to drive a Saab and I shower regularly so I wouldn’t have looked right in one.

From what I’ve heard Saab was a pain for mechanics to work on. Hippy is right. Odd looking underneath the hood. I’ve never been in one, so couldn’t say much about the car.

Volvo drivers are the worst in the world. Slow. Always have a train of cars behind them.

Spark plugs do make a difference. Remember the E3 I used for my mower? It’s a very good design. I found this video showing the spark patterns, and the combustion. The E3 seemed the best at the end of the cycle burning away gas but another brand seemed to make a faster ignite on the intial power stroke. You can see the flame shape and cone and how it burns. Really good video and tests.
