Canada

We always look at debt to GDP. This is quite stupid. We should look at Net Debt to GDP, which considers assets and liabilities. When you do that, Canada is in great shape.

  • Japan: 156%
  • Italy: 127%
  • United States: 95%
  • France: 95%
  • United Kingdom: 95%
  • Germany: 47%
  • Canada: 14%

Canada has the lowest net debt-to-GDP ratio among the G7, significantly below the group average of 95%.

A good American.

You can’t be serious. He speaks from both sides of his lying mouth so who really knows what the truth is with him. I heard he raped a young black boy at the Standard Hotel so hard the boy died. The crime has been covered up.

You heard? On Telegram, maybe? Then it must be true.

Repay the U.S. for past free military protection and it would be #1 on that list.
That includes Canada and all NATO countries.

You don’t acknowledge or appreciate military. I know you are not military nor have any family members that are military. You can’t be military at your age. You might be employed by the military in some way or another.

Just because you aren’t it doesn’t mean you have to pretend military doesn’t exist or are beneath your recognition.

You are not being called a coward Reggie. Do not overcompensate.

Your Google told me.

Canada resembles the UK.

Vaisakhi is fun, although too crowded. Half a million people come out in Surrey for it.

One thing you do not seem to understand is that Canada is not a Super Power.

Canada is not to dictate to a Super Power.

That’s true, Mark. Canada is not a superpower.

In the event a nuclear attack against The United States launched from Russia, not a single missile or bomb would touch American Soil. All of it would come down on Canada. 90% of the Canadian population lives just 100 miles from the U.S. border. You tell yourselves it’s the cold and .we like you to believe that.

The Canadian Shield isn’t just some geological formation , it’s what the nation is as a whole. Sure you can make the US look like some big tyrant and make statements about how much better your standard of living is and your finances. Nice and smug and comfortable and cozy. You can be proud of that. You deserve to feel good and have enjoyed a sense of peace and safety and quality living for as far back as any generation can remember.

But you are a fool to not believe USA #1 for those not just pro nuclear power but pro nuclear war.

Russia vs USA is not that intimidating a threat to either Super Power when it’s the mutual “Canadian Shield :shield:” that buffers the crossfire.

Canada has been using the US as one, don’t look so surprised.

Do you see the USA’s demise due to economics and policy? Not unity or cooperation. Well that all changes in the event of a war on a global scale.

Advocate for that and you will force that hand.

Maybe you should change the way you look at America and it’s leadership and it’s strength as a Canadian.

Maybe you can be a little less smug now that you know what American Leadership thinks about Canada.

Does turkey time make you nervous? I bet it does.

Respect and Cooperation or mutually assured annihilation.

Now that is something you can lose face about. The term meltdown is finally justified.

And nothing is funny about it.

It’s been planned for decades.

That’s nice.

Yet oddly some Canadians refer to themselves as such.

Canada’s total population is actually less than California. How hard is that to manage? Like comparable scale and degree of difficulty. You talk about annexing like it’s insane for an entire country that doesn’t even match a state.

That’s not true, Mark. Canada has about a million more people than California. It’s close, though. Just keep in mind, the US hasn’t won a war since WW2. I’m pretty sure we can put up a better fight than the Vietnamese, Iraqis and Afghans, and we all know how well those went for the US. Perhaps it might be good for the USA to stop thinking about invading people and to start thinking about feeding, educating and healing its own people.

The USA will not get Greenland. The USA will not get Canada. The USA will not get the Panama Canal. The USA will not get the Suez Canal. The USA will not get Gaza.

Sadly, the USA will also not get universal health care. The USA will not get safe streets or cities. The USA will not get homes for its millions of homeless. The USA will not get a reduction in gun violence or mass shootings.

Most importantly, the USA will not get respect from the people of the world, most of whom think your nation under Trump is a joke, an opinion shared by about half of your own citizens.

usa didnt win ww2 either
they just decided to join the winning side (2 years late) because japan attacked them
sure the atomic bomb speeded things up, and usa providing weapons and resources helped a lot to end the war quicker… but the allies would have won anyways

yes would be very good and it may take a while but i believe it will grow up… or perish

This is indisputably true. They were on the winning side, though, so I’ll give them some points.

My money is on perish. I can’t imagine any outcome in which the horribly divided “United” States remains intact as a single country. New England and the coasts in general will be far better off, and I hope the inbreds in the middle don’t start too many wars.

We have over 1 million undocumented immigrants.. That doesn’t include our of state homeless.
We have 100,000 that cross the border for work and school daily from Tijuana alone.

Throw in Rhode Island or Puerto Rico and you see the load and scale.

You can’t stop Russia from taking 90% of your land and waters if they wanted to. You would have cave to any demands by Russia or even North Korea.

You have too much space, you are a vulnerable border, and you are sitting on too many resources.

You are small compared to fifty

You lose against one state.

California’s GDP is significantly larger than Canada’s. In 2024, California’s GDP was estimated to be $4.1 trillion, while Canada’s was around $2.117 trillion, according to an article on KTLA and Wikipedia respectively. This means California’s economy is roughly twice the size of Canada’s.

One state twice your economy. Look at the land mass and population. With 1 million more people and none of the border issues we face down here you aren’t even producing half. Look at our load of immigration and out of state homeless.
