Liberals were just projected the winners of our election. I’m happy about that. It’s still too early to know if it’s a majority or minority.

You do not represent all of Canada. When Stephen Harper was still PM I used to download and listen to his podcasts. There are several Canadians who disagree with you. There are several groups in Canada you are totally out of touch with.
You even discounted your citizenship acting as if you are twice the patriot so you need 2 citizenships in 2 different countries. Canada allows dual citizenship because it’s only doing half of what is required. You need to cede to US Annexation or do something more.
I had the privilege of working with a very fine Navy Veteran who has deep Canadian family roots. We were both workaholics who worked way harder than others just for sake of working and not giving up despite lack of corporate appreciation. We were different but we were American. We might have just been working for a better Canada or even Russia.
Jagmeet Singh just resigned as leader of the NDP. They got destroyed. Poilievre is talking now. Hopefully he will resign, too.

Mark, you really don’t understand GDP per capita. High GDP per capita doesn’t reflect anything positive among western nations. It results from:

Higher prices and cost of living in California.

Higher employment rates (lower welfare, more dual-income households)
The high GDP per capita in California reflects the horrible lifestyle most people live there. You’d be much better off living in a poorer state where you don’t have to work as hard to maintain a passable lifestyle.

CBC has shut down its election coverage for tonight. It’ll be a real stretch for Carney to reach majority status but it’s possible and I’ll hold out hope until the last recount. That said, there’s also real hope for a deal with the NDP or Bloc, so the Liberals may be in power for another 5 years. They ran the most anti-Trump campaign imaginable. Interesting times ahead.

Yes, absolutely. And it’s a long-standing tradition here that no party will elect anyone who can’t at least have a basic conversation in French.
I don’t generally engage with Ben, but to say the Liberal party is Trump-hating is simply 100% true. Nobody can say they didn’t expect what’s about to come. Carney was clear, the relationship we had with the USA is over. Forever. Carney made clear that he continues to love the 47% of sane Americans down there, but he has no use for the inbred lunatics that elected the Cheeto. Armed with this knowledge, the people of Canada then elected Carney, and we rejected the Trump-lite conservative alternative.
We chose this. Now let the Cheetos fall where they may.
