This is a workaround from not having universal healthcare. I just read about a woman who had a seizure, ended up with $100000 in medical debt and her credit score is in the 400s. It will go up now, so at least she can get a credit card. She won’t be able to pay her credit card bill probably, but at least she won’t starve.
I generally think credit score is overrated, but mine has never been low so maybe that’s why. Mine is very high, but I don’t have much money. My only debt is mortgage, so I guess that’s why it’s high.
The words “medical debt” should make any decent person want to vomit.
