Minor downtime tonight due to an Ubuntu upgrade. Perhaps 5 min or so.

I am going to be doing an update in a few hours. The site will be down for 30 min or so.
All done. No issues encountered.
The site has had a few brief downtime incidents today. None have lasted more than a minute. I will reboot the server later tonight so expect about 5 minutes of downtime around 11 pm Pacific Time.

The site is slow again. Not sure what’s up with it. Some update must have slowed it down. I’m going to reboot it again.
Done. Let’s see if this improves. If not, I’ll have to move up my scheduled upgrade, which is not something I’m eager to do but I could do it.

Well, that was unpleasant. Several hours of downtime. I think the problem was on the side of my provider. I did a migration to another data center and now it seems fine. I am now going to voluntarily create some more downtime by grabbing a snapshot of the server and upgrading it to something a bit better. Sorry for the inconvenience. Might as well get all of the downtime out of the way in one shot.
EDIT: I changed my mind. I enabled automatic snapshots and the first will be done in a few hours. I’m going to wait for one or two of those to be done before upgrading just to be safe. I’d really rather not rebuild the server if something goes wrong, and resizing Linux partitions often causes problems so I think it’s best to be a bit cautious.
EDIT2: Things have been super fast for me since the migration.
