This is a 100% valid point.
I’m not opposed to tariffs. I just think it’s embarrassing that Trump doesn’t understand the process.
This is exactly right. Trump doesn’t understand how the system works, which is embarrassing and possibly dangerous for a leader.
The current situation on tariffs is just simply lose-lose. We lose if we don’t impose tariffs in the west because we’ll lose our auto industries (and many other industries). We lose if we do impose them because everything we do becomes more expensive and our industries become uncompetitive due to increased costs. We’re just screwed in the west.
I think it’s embarrassing that we place tariffs on products from other countries that we can’t even afford the equivalent to in American made products from the U.S.
Nobody embarrasses Trump. This slave system is on its way out.
That is an excellent point which means something in the west has to change and it’s not tariffs.
Be careful what you wish for because you’re probably going to get it in this case. What’s going to change is that AI and Robotics will make all human labour worth about $1/hr in a few decades. At that point, we’re all just irrelevant.
I haven’t wished for anything. I do have a clear understanding that it’s the elites way or no way. Trump rejects that way and the elites hate him for it.
We are already irrelevant.
That’s a brave post, Reginald, considering Obama was hawking our guns to Mexico.
Do you approve of Trump selling Chinese-printed Bibles, Michele?
Do you approve of Obama selling American made guns to Mexico?
No, I do not approve of that at all.
Now kindly answer my question. Do you approve of Trump selling Chinese-printed Bibles, Michele?
I wouldn’t care if Trump sold Bibles published in Iran. It does not matter where they came from. It matters where they go and what’s in them.
Interesting. I think it matters where they’re from.
Why? You don’t care what’s written in it.
True, but Trump believes that China is an enemy of the United States. For him to give aid and comfort to that enemy shows his character.
China is the enemy of many countries, including Canada, but everyone still does business with them.
I don’t consider China an enemy, Michele. They need the west. The west needs them. I hope Xi dies, but the Chinese people are not my enemy.
Why? Is Xi your enemy?
Who said they were?
Indirectly. He is the enemy of the Chinese people, who are my friends.
