I believe the Salvadoreño version of your statement is, “we can give everyone their rightful day in court and at least try to be fair and civil and live in democratic countries, or we can stop living in a Hell where our daughters are gang raped and our sons are either murdered or are kidnapped and forced to become murderers.”

sure if needed i would rather die than “be happy and safe” at the expense of others suffering and dying
but somehow in reality that usually doesnt happen… those “fearless dictators” and their followers usually cower or run away when they see people stand up and are willing to die for what is right

i wouldnt consider it an unhappy death, it would show someone is willing to stand up for what they believe is right and not let anyone suffer
