Travels

Wow! What are you on about today and how am I being a witch? He said his friends dog behaved poorly. He said everyone else rejected his pleas for a dog sitter, which sounds like a wise choice. Pity is a kindness and I’m sorry I said anything.

If I said no, I don’t think they could go to Japan. They are going with a 2 and 5 year old, which sounds worse than dogsitting.

Well, first you called him an elitist for saying he didn’t like Olive Garden, and then you said he had poor judgment for helping his friends out. Did your broom break down today?

I admit you’ve been quite pleasant to me today, though.

Oh Bs…a pound will take care of it. I am sorry, though. I didn’t mean to be so rude. You’re the nicest person on BBad. That I know of, you’re kind to everyone and never take cheap shots at anyone.

That’s not true, Reg. I called him an elitist because he called the food cheap. Considering everyone else rejected the friends plea, it appears to me it was poor judgment. That’s my opinion, but I’ll try to refrain from offering my opinion in the future because the last thing I want to do is offend or hurt anyone with my words.

It is damaged. I assumed you tried to mount the bristles upon taken your last joy ride.

You called it cheap, too.

I’m the only one that didn’t think it was cheap. $65 plus tip for two entrees, two soups, and a diet coke. That’s not cheap at all to me. Nasty place.

Why are you fighting Dan’s battles for him? It is not The Lakehouse Grill but I’ve certainly had worse and paid more for it.

Then you got yoyr bloated moneys worth.

We rode our bikes to Fresgos today, which is an iconic place in Surrey. It’s not very posh, but it’s an important part of our lives. Isa and I felt like having a beer, which is very rare for us. Perhaps once a year or so. An old German-Canadian, Walter Wolff, owns the place and has run it for just about 50 years. I had a nice chat with him today and he told me how his kids have no interest in taking the place over. He’s in his 80s now. I hope he lives forever.

I’m not that far away. 58 and feeling every day of it. No complaints, though. My health is good and I’m still cycling, if not very fast.

PS: I am not a good beer drinker. It totally screwed up my ride. Next time Diet Coke.

Looks like a beautiful day and you had the whole place to yourself for a minute. Walter Wolff should sell it. Someone, like you, with money could buy it, expand and turn a profit. You still look good, Reg. Aging gracefully. It’s probably all that outdoor activity and fresh air you’re getting. Love the bikes, too. Especially the orange one lol. Inspired by Trump for great ride lol. Yeah, I can’t help it.

Those are some tall glasses. Did you get any food with them? I like cider and hard kombucha. I don’t like beer either. It makes me not hungry and the next day I feel like I didn’t eat the day before.

That’s Isa’s bike. I have the boring brown one. I should’ve bought the yellow. I have regretted not getting yellow since I bought it.

We bought electric bikes for downtown because we’re old now. I will finally get a yellow bike in 2 more weeks. We’ll keep the current bikes in Surrey where it’s more flat.

Erika chose green.

I am in Guatemala for no reason at all. I have no idea what we should see or what we should do here. I’m told they have a pretty lake called Atitlan but I have no idea where it is or how far it is from here. I am so organized. lol. I’ll ask people tomorrow. I hope they have some museums. I really like museums. The hotel is pretty at least, and our room has two floors and two bathrooms which is nice. That’s all I’ve seen so far.

That is a stunning staircase, Reg. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

I know you don’t wanna get your head wet or sand in the bed of your nails but I bet the Mrs. would love it if you took her scuba diving.

Edit: Make sure she isn’t mad at you lest you swim too deep and she rip your mask and tank off. I think someone actually did that several years ago and got away with it. Anyway, have fun at the museums. Looks like some really good ones there and don’t forget to take lots of pictures.

We had a huge breakfast at the hotel, bought local SIM cards, then found a beautiful museum. I’m too tired to sort out my photos but here’s one I picked at random from inside the museum. Guatemala is beautiful, and the people are very polite. Very few of them are fat, and even fewer have tattoos. It isn’t as fancy as Colombia or Canada but neither Isa nor I care. The hotel we are at might be our favourite of all the hotels we’ve ever stayed at. The (included) breakfast buffet is spectacular. I splurged for a nice room and that got us access to the private club which has free (excellent) food all day long, and free alcohol after 5:30 pm. I can easily see us returning to this place in the future, perhaps many times. I won’t be losing any weight here.
