The POM

Not too personal at all. I was just flying all day. I was on the 11th floor. I would guess that piece of art is about 200 feet tall. It’s stunningly dramatic in real life. The entire hotel is magic, with a rooftop bar that gets seriously windy and is not for the faint of heart.

From the floor looking straight up.

From my floor looking down. That tiny square at the bottom is the huge hotel lobby.

The lobby.

The rooftop bar.

I was there this morning, but since then I have flown from Bucaramanga to Medellín, and then from Medellín to Cartagena where I am now. I really love Colombia.

I know you do, Reg. You always paint a beautiful picture of Columbia. Enjoy your peace and quiet there as long as you can. You may be going home to smoke and fire.

Edit: to correct my spelling.

While you’re correcting your spelling, you might want to note that the country is spelled Colombia, not Columbia. I’m not trying to be a spelling Nazi. Just thought you might want to know.

There is a trump nut up the road that fixes motorcycles.

His sign said…

“This is getting rediculous. Trump 2024.”

It was that way for 3 days. I wonder who told him lol. I wouldn’t have, actually.

blue covid!

Actually water, but you should probably wear a mask to be safe.

i would but only kids, criminals and very scared people wear masks

As irritating as I find you, Nico, I would not accuse you of being any of those things. That said, you are mistaken, which is not uncommon.

Some people who are particularly vulnerable to Covid wear masks, even if they are not “very scared” of it. They’re just doing a cost/benefit analysis and the mask wins. Some people who aren’t scared at all of Covid but like to function normally in society wear masks if their government requires it. Some people just wear masks because they don’t want to catch whatever’s going around these days. Chinese tourists could always be seen wearing masks long before anyone had ever heard of Covid. I suppose you might class them as “very scared” but I don’t. Again, they’re just doing a cost/benefit analaysis and, for them, the mask wins.

To each their own. Some people wear full leathers to ride a motorcycle. I never do (or did – it’s not like I ride motorcycles these days). We each choose whatever level of protection we are comfortable with for whatever risks we happen to be facing.

You’re usually all over the “to each their own” thing, but when it comes to masks you resort to name calling and childish judgments. I’m used to it. You do that with suicide, too.

lol true, while i would classify some of my behaviour as childish, you would accuse me of uhm “way more interesting things” and thats ok since iam used to you freaking out now and then whenever i share some different opinions or respond to one of your own snarky comments

so yes i understand that you see “name calling” and even judgmental personal attacks where there is only a different opinion / a childish snappy reaction to your own childish comment

yes i believe that suicide is a very selfish and cowardly thing to do, at the same time i also think every adult has the right to do so since its their life

for ourselves and not other adults and for whatever reason… r’amen

or as i would say: what is a “cost benefit analysis” to one is “very scared” to another and to each their own

Indeed.

lol… oh well, i tried
