there were some demonstrations and some violence in previous months (for some reason the small religious right oriented city called urk seems to always popup when it comes to that)
dutch people dont like to be told what to do, the curfew was the last straw, i think it reminds people too much of the war (which all those troublemakers never experienced themselves lol)

I am torn between my dislike of curfews and my dislike of the Dutch.
Curfews don’t work. Masks work. Distancing works. Curfews have no effect. They also intuitively make no sense. Make everyone do their errands in fewer hours and there will be MORE crowds and MORE chance of getting covid. Close the bars but don’t impose curfews.
masks: people will not use them properly, clean or change regularly and dont even mention those selfmade garbage things lol, they only add to the number of infections because people feel “safe”
distancing: maybe could help if you keep more than 5 meters distance, which is impossible to do in the small streets we have lol
curfew: agree with your logic, it is the most ridiculous restriction of them all… especially the times they chose here
