Seems either God never said and has done the bad things noted in the old testament, suffers from dementia or cherrypicks from the Bible like most Christians I personally know. Except the Evangelicals in the US it seems.
Organized Religion generally takes one of two forms.
First there are the literalists. In Christianity, these are the ones who cover their heads when praying, do not befriend non-Christians, tithe, believe that God hates gays, and other such things that are literally said in the Bible. In Islam, these are the ones who marry multiple women, donāt drink or eat pork, pray five times a day facing Mecca, and believe literally in waging violent jihad for Allah.
Then there are the spiritualists. These are the ones who say something like, āI like the ceremonies and trappings of my religion, but I do not take the books literally and I donāt feel the laws written eons ago still apply to me. I will pick and choose those laws that I feel still apply in 2025 and reject those I feel no longer apply.ā
To me, the latter group (which encompasses the majority of religious people) are fine. Canada is 158 years old and I love my country but I donāt approve of many of the laws they had back in 1867. I will pick and choose the things I like about that old Canada while rejecting those I feel no longer apply. There is no difference.
I personally never met any of the first form. Thankfully. But, we have them somewhere, as there are for example a few visible churches like the Seven-Days-Adventists, who block any contacts with other people except from work I guess. And honestly, I support to forbid any religious and non-religious group like that. If an individual is like that, ok, itās his right to live a seclusive life. But not as an organized group, if they oppose our basic principle values of living together and are going to spread this.
Now that youāve lumped believers into two categories, I can for certain say I do not fit in anywhere.
I donāt agree. You fit clearly into the second camp. You clearly pick and choose those laws that you feel still apply in 2025 and reject those that you feel no longer apply.
Your judgment is incorrect since I believe all the laws apply but I fall short of measuring up to any of them. They are still valid laws.
This seems best under religion.

I was taught this entire scripture was of the Anti-Christ but I see 3 people in this word.
