I would prefer the dog to most of the butseksers so yes.

How should someone be able to keep a dog from carpeted areas, except they are reduced to maybe just the bedroom? That‘s neither realistic nor practical - nor social. I totally get and approve, if landlords demand a three times higher bail and that renters have to pay for damages their pets make. But I think it‘s not ok if some landlord generally can prohibit keeping a dog or cat, except for objective reasons like aggressivety, unreasonalble noises like constant barking - or if people don‘t keep them well. Pets and especially cats and dogs have a positive effect on the health of people. Therefore it‘s unsocial in my opinion to generally prohibit them.

So, why would a Christian woman would give the advise to not rent to people with children or dogs?

You are a egoist, so I don‘t wonder about your egoistic and unsocial behaviour.

While it is rare, I do book out to people with children but I stand by my words to Dan as sound advice. Perhaps you should allow a few strangers with children and animals to book your spare room before we have this conversation again.

They would be reduced space in every room EXCEPT bedrooms. You just want to argue to hear yourself talk.
I admit, I am against cats anywhere in my home as I believe they are destructive to plants, wood floors and, really, anywhere their little claws will take them. Having said that, if I knew someone was so passionate about their cat that they would put serious effort into swaying my thoughts on the issue, I do have two designated spaces for their little creatures. I’m not so heartless, Gunda, but I do have rights too, you know.
I have a right to protect my possessions from destruction by another persons irresponsibility.
Or can you not swallow the truth that as a Christian I am just a little lower than you but I still have rights?

Recently, I am on a Western-Genre-Nostalgie trip, especially with Glenn Ford. Truth is, it‘s actually Glenn Ford I can‘t get enough to see on the screen, lol. Nevertheless, it‘s a Robert Redford trailer I post, as his „Jeremiah Johnson“ came across on tv yesterday and I enjoyed this movie as much as I did the first time. A gorgeous movie about a gorgeous yet also very cruel nature - and the even more cruel and ugly human beings, regardless which race they belong too.

Wha‘s new to me is, that this movie is based on a real person.

I know shawshank is the best movie of all time. There is a strong debate for 2nd place and the difference between 2nd and 3rd place seems nonexistent. I wonder if that’s common.

Who is in the running for 2nd and 3rd?

2nd and 3rd is a tie between full metal jacket, one who flew over the cuckoo’s nest, machete, unforgiven, American beauty, the revenant, and 310 to yuma.

Cuckoo’s nest, Unforgiven for sure. I think Shawshank is not in the running. Just my opinion.
Pulp fiction, Blade Runner (the original), Catch-22, Dr. Strangelove.

Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and Schindler’s List.

I definitely liked the more recent blade runner compares to the original.

I started watching dark. I’m watching a dubbed version. Rather than subtitles. The music and scenery is great. It is somewhat confusing. Too many of the German guys look alike. Seems pretty scifi so far.

Just finished binging on this one. Pretty good.

This is a bit dark. The 11 year old just time traveled backwards 33 years.

I don’t think I really gave anything away there.

Most overrated movies…

Anything with john Travolta
The graduate
Vertigo
Harold and maude
Spotlight
Moonlight
Magnolia

At this very moment and depending on the genre I am in mood for, I would pick from following selection, with probably Lawrence of Arabia as the most impressive one regarding epic scenes and revealing how ugly the motivation of all sides involved actually are. Higher motives never ever played a role in any war, nor did there ever happened a „just“ cause for war, despite the propaganda of the winners and losers.

Lawrence of Arabia
Dances with Wolves
How to Steal a Million
The Philadelphia Story
Bringing Up Baby
Arsenic and Old Lace
The „Miss Marple“- and
„Thin Man“-series

There are so great quotes in this movie. Some of them as well as a great summary of the movie and historic backgrounds can be seen here.

I’ve never seen any of those movies except dances with wolves. Some in your list @Gundi I have never even heard of.

You don’t believe that WWII was a just war?
