I hate movies but I stumbled upon this trailer for yet another Dune movie. It looks really good. I doubt I will watch it, but this is as close as I have seen to my mental images from the book.
ah nice, the environment/visuals are great but part 1 mostly wasnt that good to me because it was only a nice setup; they really should have made a series out of this…
I liked part 1 but it was long. At least Sting wasn’t in it.
I agree that it should have been a series. The pluses of it being a movie is the visuals on the big screen and it seems so expensive to make, I’m not sure a channel would do it. I’m surprised they are making a 2nd season of Sandman.
I’m seeing this today. I haven’t seen a movie since Oppenheimer. I think I only saw 2 last year.
8/10. Pretty bad trailer, but this was pretty good. A little Get Out to it with more cult and less humor. Quite scary and mysterious.
How can anyone watch that kind of horror. The extent of mystery I’m willing to tolerate would probably bore you but I prefer comedy and drama to voodoo and spirit cooking.

Dune 2 comes out next Friday.
I enjoyed The Equalizer. Didn’t see the sequels 2 and 3 yet, though. If justice always would be served like that, the world would be a paradise within a year. Minus a lot of other problems caused by humans as a plus.

I don’t watch movies, and have never seen an Equalizer movie, but the clips I have seen of Denzel as the Equalizer have been brilliant (in a bloodthirsty and vengeful kind of way).
He was neither bloodthirsty nor vengeful, as he always gave them a second chance (even here, as none actually died as much as I could see) and never was both victim and executor. The verdict he served was just. Which the current justice system at least in Germany (and in whole Europe) fails. Rather the opposite. It punishes the victims.

I wonder what you think of this movie from 1974, Gunda. Youtube just recommended it to me after I watched that Equalizer clip. Similar, but even quicker to escalate to violence. I am quite certain that, in 2024, this guy would not be seen as a “hero” to most. Personally, I get killing those people. I don’t know if I approve or not, but I get it. Note the second shots to ensure they’re dead.
Didn‘t need to watch that flick, as I haven‘t watched a movie with Bronson I disliked.
Fair enough. He would deliberately put himself in situations where he would be attacked by criminals, and then he would kill the criminals.
I wish such guys would exist in real life and society would praise them.
They do exist but the American justice system colluding with the corrupted liberal party has him tied up in court while society praises warmongers.
