I don’t mind harsh punishments. I would need more infos about what exactly gets fined with such punishments like beatings or getting killed. I find a life behind bars more harsh and consider the negative effect for the ordered killer by the state, not worth it. But I certainly won’t blame countries for doing it per se. It depends on the reasons. Fact is, Singapore is way more secure than most if not all Western countries.
