Life is good

It‘s past 7 am and still dark outside. I get up easier at 6 am already in summer, when it‘s bright.

Was invited by a dear friend for dinner last night. Her Turkish partner grilled salmon and pork. Delicious! I know both for over a decade by now. He is Muslim but as religious as my folks at home. Very easy going and open minded. He eats pork and drinks all kind of alcohol, like the rest of us. He is fully integrated. We were 5 people and a 1,5 year old boy (belonged to the other couple). Was a very „alive“ evening to say the least, lol. To the shouting of that small human, Ufuk, as a really ultra Bayern Munich fan, insisted to watch them playing live on sky tv and yet missed all 3 goals when getting stuff from the grill or kitchen, to which his partner send him. So there also was some little quarrel between those two going on. Both cats of her in terror already by that little boy. Well, I had fun, lol.

Unfortunately, Heinz Erhardt is right. Winter is close, but the forest looked never as beautiful as these days. Only the sun is missing.

Nevertheless, life is good and I have a long weekend ahead of me.

It’s a sunny sundayyyy! So we had a nice long walk and found this nice “Hundetankstelle” run by a nice older couple.

Nice…and red look nice on a black dog. Is that Jamie?

a dog tank station? lol thats great, what were they selling?
lol am asking this because i never see those anywhere outside supermarkets or other bigger shops

Yes.

Yup, a dog tank station. But they don‘t sell anything. They „just“ put those two bowls right outside their garden where a sidewalk leads by. Currently they are empty, but in summer they are always full for the thirsty dogs. This house is not far from me.

Passed…passed by*

Dogs don’t get thirsty in the fall?

thats wonderful, you should surprise them and bring them some flowers

Not as fast as on hot summer days, Michele.

If you say so.

Every time I go to the kitchen for coffee I look outside the window in the hope to catch one of those rare creatures in my garden like that one robin or that one wren. Just 1 minute ago both even visited together and were close to each other. I don‘t know why there is always just one of each species unlike the many sparrows who always come in flocks. I love those two birds visit my tiny garden. On sunday I heard the robin wonderfully sing even. I hope to hear that wren once too.

nice, except for the hoping part… thats a waste of time
here you go:

Hoping is good. Well, mostly, not always. But thanks, was nice to hear their typical melody to recognize it if „my“ wren eventually does me that favour.

Was driving my friend yesterday to her art gallery in a tiny village called Kallmünz, as she currently has problems with her eyes and thus can’t drive. So I went with my dog for a long walk till she finished work. Still no sun. But at least it was dry.

It appears, my chances to purchase some little land in the rural area (surrounded just by a few houses and paddocks) becomes realistic. Thanks to my friend, I now have an architect and entrepreneur at hands, who wants to expand his business by building Modul houses. I might get a special price for my 50 qm2 Modul House and he is going to accompany me on coming sunday to check out that land. I try to not be overly optimistic but this time I might have the needed luck. Let‘s hope I don‘t need more than 200.000 € alltogether (which I doubt). And if, then definitely without anything fancy, the garden fence and solar panels). But that‘s the maximum I hope to be able to finance. If there‘s a mighty Pumpkin up there, then I will send a little prayer tonight, lol.

That land couldn’t lie nicer. Two apple trees, surrounded by farm land, forest and paddocks with horses and donkeys, great like-minded people engaging in animal rescue.

But to make this little dream of my own tiny land to live on to become true, there are more than just one Mighty Pumpkins needed. I only would need 100 qm2, max. 150 qm2. But she is selling 1.000 qm2 for 120 € each. Zero development (power, water, etc.), not even a road connection, despite that would be just a few meters. Nevertheless, the cost for the land and needed infrastructure bursts my budget for this section already by far. The remaining money never would be enough for even just the frame of a 50 qm2 Modul House, lol. Let’s see what price that architect comes up with for his version.

If you only need 100m and she’s selling 1000, why not create a co-op and build 7 to 10 tiny houses there? The profit you make on the other nine may pay for yours.

This would mean a multiple of the debt I can afford to finance. But thanks for that tipp. Maybe that architect, who only works for fun anymore as he already earned enough according to him, wants to put more thinking time into my project and has an idea and the needed drive for that he can find this idea useful somehow. The land goes to one owner only and to a person she knows (and likes). No foreigner. She already sold another 1.000 qm2 to her best friend. I don‘t know the reason, but probably not having so many people in the direct neighbourhood might be behind it. To exclude problems. Maybe he could use those 900 qm2 to put up various model houses of his future business, lol. With all the 3D possibilities nowadays I just doubt that. I will forward this idea to both on coming weekend though, where we all meet again up there.

I needed a time out to think about all options which I know of right now and decided, I will purchase that land and develop it together with the other new owner (well only that road, as we both need that way onto our patch of land), who already purchased the other 1.000 qm2 opposite „my“ 1.000 qm2. I will buy me that Modul House in maybe 5 years, after I paid off the debt for the land and the approximately 25.000 € costs for the needed infrastructure. I can live in my current apartment another 5 years without time pressure. This option is still better than not buying it. The landscape and surrounding, the people - it can‘t get better.

And now I start my working week. Finally. But I had to get this off my head first.
