If you want to lose weight, I suggest you cut out all starch and most carbs. No rice, no pasta, no bread, no potatoes. This includes pizza crusts, pita wraps and all baking. Ideally, put vegetables in a pot, cook them, scoop them out into several small containers and eat the containers throughout the day. That’s how I do it.
I started using my weight watchers app again. I’m using blue but have the option of green or purple.
I eat vegetables. Why aren’t you slam packed with muscle like me?
You don’t resent your mother for your diabetes?
No, especially since it’s generally accepted diabetes is passed down on the father’s side. I don’t blame him, either. He didn’t choose his diabetes any more than I did.
Does all your family have that same kind of sickly flesh you do? Like no muscle tone it just looks like something mixed with molasses that keeps falling off and then just gets replenished.
Do you have the same genetics for that or is it from the same food you ate together as a family?
I’m down 4.2 pounds from when I weighed myself yesterday and posted.
Breakfast as I woke up late. Going to do some Bible reading and prayer before I figure out what I can do on the sabbath.
Going to make oats with water and low-fat milk and cook some apples bananas and raisins in.
No that’s not porn. I don’t look at the stuff.
Had to add a little extra water and it cooked in about 4 minutes. Some cinnamon mixed in and poured back in the same Pyrex I used to measure the liquids and topped with granola. I don’t know how I’ll enter in my tracking app but I think I won’t complicate things by adding honey.
That’s not the only way. And it doesn’t seem to be working for you too well. I don’t think you understand something. You can do things for yourself as an individual body. My body has to be part of a larger body. Meaning everyone wanting to lose weight, everyone wanting a higher level of fitness. There are plans that allow eating of foods you shunned in moderation. Some plans are all vegan. But if I want to lose the weight I don’t want then I have to lose it as part of a larger and more numerous body.
That may require more work for some than others just to get similar results. And weight loss and gain is not all the same. Take bodybuilders for instance who bulk and then cut and even do the reverse.
Will your exercise and weight loss benefit anyone else other than yourself?
Can you integrate or identify with a body such as your workforce, your church congregation, the members who post here, or even your full extended family and take up their ailments and out of shape conditions and extra weight?
Upon doing so can you undergo a strict training regimen that boosts their immune systems and gives them double fast results from exercise and strength from activities like grocery loading and unloading enough to beat depression?
Then can you not fall into depression or a no gain zone all pain zone yourself?
Because that’s the only way it gets done.
318.6. That’s 6.8 pounds in less than 2 days. Yesterday I ate 4 hamburgers. A slice of apple pie. 1 light beef pot roast can of soup. That cup of oatmeal I posted. The burgers I had onions and pickles and a ton of ketchup and even mayo. and there were large patties and full calorie bread.
I lose weight for myself. Nobody loses it for me. Doesn’t matter what you did. It’s not going to work for me. Just try to be me. Feel your heart, you will understand why.
I’m not sure who you are talking to but I don’t mind telling you right away that I can’t integrate with Liberals any more than Liberals can integrate with Christians, if you can call me that. I can’t take up your ailments any more than you can take up my cross.
God knows, I’m not strict on myself and I don’t punch a time clock so that would be a planned fail before even get started training. At my age, the only thing I’m going to commit to and be strict about is the enjoyment and reward I’m going to take from whatever I do.
I can be your biggest cheerleader but I can’t do the work for you.
Can you tame your tongue?
That’s the wrong approach because it implies there are no options and I believe in having options. There are other ways. I think what we need to do is analyze everything and find out what the right way is. For instance, if you are going to eat carbs, my opinion is that you should have them early in the morning so you have the entire day to burn them off. Someone else may think you shouldn’t have carbs at all but I think that’s crazy. If you deny yourself carbs, you are going to starve and then binge and then starve again.Never getting satisfied, always feeling hungry. Always craving something sweet.
Yes it is, Mark. People overcomplicate weight loss. You burn a certain number of calories each day. If you eat more calories than you burn, your weight increases. If you eat less calories than you burn, your weight decreases. If you eat the same number of calories as you burn, your weight stays the same. That’s it, that’s all.
Guess I’m not people then.
I understand the concept. I saw some ice cream in a urinal at once.
This is a food thread. Was that some kind of eating utensil?
And my body is much much more dense and muscular than yours. Also some foods just trigger the metabolism to work harder and almost burn themselves off. You are losing weight by gravity alone and it’s gross dude.
Carbs 4 protein 4 and fats 9 just says one thing. You are eating fixed ————
You have no chemistry Reggie.
AFAIK green salads without heavy dressing have this effect.
A great American book on this - rarely available in German but more broadly in Spanish and in its Original English* - is
Herbert Shelton’s “Food combining”

Yes yes I got some green salads.
