I do, too. I owe it all to minoxidil, hair dye and conditioner.
Reg and others fail to recognize the true meaning which has to do with a womanâs respect for her husband and would rather focus on the Corinthian culture as if that is the significant point. The command is absolute and is about respect but it is just foolish ignorant bantering to neglect the culturally relative significance to the various respective cultures when studying the Bible. Youâre right @AgeofGrace that it (that culture) does not apply to you.
If one is going to try to interpret the Bible for others, he should at least understand the very basics of hermeneutics which begins with asking âwhatâ (is the subject matter of the text) and âwhyâ (was the text written). It is easy to see that Regâs purpose and focus is not to understand those things but rather to mock the Word of God and attempt to cast doubts. The Bible is full of examples of people who mock the Word of God as well as the consequences for it, so this kind of foolishness is nothing new and can be expected. These scoffers and mockers are not interested in drawing out the truth.
As for the Slippery-slope fallacies to follow, they are not really worth addressing, except to say, as you know, thatâs what happens when you throw pearls before swine. But hey, no harm in throwing out a few seeds to Reg, you never know what a little extra conviction might bring when his time comes.
This is, of course, foolish nonsense. âIt doesnât apply to meâ is the sort of mental gymnastics used by homosexuals who say the verses prohibiting sodomy only apply to shrine temple prostitutes. It is simply more intellectual dishonesty used by Christians when Biblical requirements are inconvenient.
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you
Michele- âI love them all deeply and pray their sins rest on me.â
There once was a girl named Michele
who was sure weâd all go to hell
She prayed while we played and sinned bold as brass
but the prayers kept her off of our ass.
Should read significance of the various (blah blah blah . . . .)
So, according to Regâs exegesis of scripture if the subject of a command is to respect oneâs husband is demonstrated by a culturally relevant example of that time then likewise, therefore, the subject of the abominable sinful practice of homosexual sodomy must also must be relative to some type a specific group for this subject to apply and still be a sin.
LOL, I may have to nominate Regâs argument for the Slippery-Slope Fallacy Hall of Fame!!
More intellectually dishonest (or possibly just stupid) nonsense. If the requirements about hair coverings only applied to the âculturally relevantâ church of Corinth, then the Levitical scripts only applied to the âculturally relevantâ priests and Levites in ancient Israel. This means screwing your pet and your aunt is fine now (at least for @Tychicus) since those things are not forbidden anywhere in the Bible outside Leviticus.
As I understand it @tychicus is free to continue screwing his aunt and whatever poor animals he may own.
Hey Ugly you sure got crowned didnât you.
lol thanks silky, raising a few old topics now and then is very handy and interesting reading material;)
Oh not you! But I suppse two heads are better than one to make this example.
This topic and debate need to end fissure emperor.
Societyâs debate on head coverings will go on long after weâre both dead, Mark.
Yes but you will never go further down the chapter to read:
1 Corinthians
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
Your mind goes to oblivion if you further read down and the argument is concluded.
The root word in diarrhea should be read or reading to you. And to âreadâ anything requires you to be overly empowered to do so, this causes you to expense yourself as diarrhea. This includes your head.
You find defeat because you do not have the reading level or capacity.

Morning, Billy.
That government is very controlling.
âAutain accused the French government of harboring an âobsessive rejectionâ of the countryâs some 5 million Muslim population.â
A woman ought to have authority over her own head.
