Head Covering

Must be that brand. It’s on sale for Christmas lol.

Here you go. Here is a fairly complete list.

But it actually may only apply to married women.

Yep. Try Bio Bidet.

Only the English Standard Version says “wife”. Every other version says woman.

When praying and prophesying.

Because married women recognize authority over them. God is a single woman’s Authority.

If you now want to use a single obviously erroneous version of the text, released in 2001, in conflict with all other versions, to excuse half of women from this rule, well, it’s no sillier than all the other reasons Christians give for ignoring this clear and unambiguous New Testament rule.

Okay that was my point and you both already knew that but neither wanted to acknowledge that a single woman (like say Gunda) answers only to God.

I do not care, Reg. I don’t go around prophesying and I don’t think not covering the head hurts your salvation. Does your woman wear a head covering?

I can ALWAYS depend on your silence. Have some of mine.

So are you bidet shopping?

I guess she left in a huff.

Interesting that you do not care about the words clearly written in the Bible.

Actually you do a great deal of it here, but remember, the verse also says praying. Do you pray?

Interesting that you feel you can pick and choose the rules you follow.

No, and she ignores most of the other rules in the Bible that don’t suit her like most Catholics. In fact, I can’t think of a single inconvenient thing she does to obey her religion. If it’s inconvenient, she simply doesn’t do it. I am happy about that as it is a form of religion I can easily live with.

That was helpful.

I’m sorry, Reg. I do care about God’s Word. It’s the judgmental words of Agnostics I don’t care about.

I do. Do you pra…nevermind.

A personal relationship with Jesus is not a pyramid of rules. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. You seem to lack the ability to understand that we only have two “Commandments” to follow. No rules. As difficult as you 3 have made it, I do try to keep these commandments in the forefront of my mind.

Is she saved or are you going to lead her to Hell?

Christian rituals are not “inconvenient” to the person moved to perform the act.

Yes, I can imagine it allows you to live without conviction.

Yes, you care, but not enough to put on a head covering when you pray despite God’s word telling you to. Enough to type thousands of words on the internet trying to justify not putting on the head covering, but not enough to put on the head covering.

Interesting. I assume the two commandments you speak of are Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind and Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. I guess that means homosexuality, incest, sex with animals, heroin use and peeing in public are all ok. Oh, and conveniently not wearing head coverings when you pray. Just ignore the whole Bible when inconvenient and love God and your neighbour a lot.

None of us are saved, Michele, including Christians. We’re all going to die and be eaten by worms. I do not attempt to influence her spiritual beliefs at all so I will not be the one leading her to Heaven, Hell or worm stomachs. I can tell you she doesn’t know the Bible particularly well.

Since you are not moved to perform the act of wearing a head covering despite being told to do so by God’s word, and told it is a shame not to do so, it would appear you find it very inconvenient.

I am entirely convinced that Christians are practical creatures who would give anything for their God, as long as it doesn’t cost much, or take much time, or otherwise inconvenience them in any way.

It’s not a Commandment. Why are you trying to send me to Hell for something I have never felt any personal conviction about?

I’m not justifying anything. You are making it more complicated than it really is. You are applying “rules” where there are none. You are applying statutes and ordinances where a personal relationship should be. You make Jesus’ Sacrifice ineffective. We might as well be under the Law again, apart from Grace.

There’s just no sneaking anything past you is there.

All things are lawful but all things are not profitable.

If anyone’s ignoring anything for convenience it’s you.

Speak for yourself, Reg.

Oh I see. She leads the household. You didn’t say that before.

If she’s saved, she has the mind of Christ. She knows the Bible.

Since you have lifted yourself up…

But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved.

Her hair is her spiritual veil. Rebecca covered her face with her veil. I read somewhere that covering the face with a veil was to keep men from sin because of their beauty. Perhaps Rebekka covered her face for that reason. Idk. I think the Bible says she was beautiful. It may have been a physical veil but it could easily have been her own hair since I can’t find anywhere else in the Bible where God says for woman to wear a veil. There are numerous laws in the Torah. None that I could find pertained to veils. If there are, it is practically your duty as a man leading this thread to post it, Reg.
The Corinthians were made up of Roman soldiers who wore short hair. The only people who wore long hair were homosexuals. Looked down on.
We can look at this line by line but you are making head coverings law. By doing so, you are either avoiding the truth of the message or you truly don’t understand that you are missing the big picture here which is what the veil is, what it represents and what it’s symbolism teaches us about prophecy.
There are rituals. Christian rituals or traditions. They are helpful in passing down our beliefs. So I children after us will be watchful.

You put so much emphasis on women wearing the veil and that it represents authority for us that you miss that it also represents something even greater than that, which is the lifting of the veil and a revealing of prophesy.

Are you sure you wanna go there? Just tell me what a bunch of nonsense I’m speaking and I’ll stop. You can even delete it. It’s just words. And really, what are my words anyway.

If God is the same yesterday, today and yes, forever, where is the law requiring it?

True shame is looking down on the woman you call your wife and saying something unflattering.
