just curious and glad i asked, i would think they belong in your kids category but apparently not… strange

i dont think i know anyone that has a death wish but who knows… probably some people from work if they would hear they are fired

“Asking for a friend?” is internet-speak for “are you talking about yourself?”.

lol really?

i couldnt do that to you, my dear dutch brother; your poor google analytics data would drastically diminish and this place would become so boring without me;)

Those are options. I’m aware of options or methods used to carry out death.

I only really want to talk about that statement.

“Death is a right”

Death is not a right to me, therefore, death is not everyone’s right.

At best, it’s an appointment I want to reschedule or cancel all together.

Ok.

so when someone experiences unbearable suffering without any hope for improvement and want to die you deny their request?

Because it is not a choice for her, it must not be a choice for anyone.

It’s not about choices. It’s about rights. Stay on subject.

yes, why should that person continue to suffer?

It is a right. It may not be your choice but it is a right.

Prove it

You can’t prove your god exists and you want me to prove a right?

right/no right, god/no god, choice/no choice…
what is important to me is why should someone (that experiences unbearable suffering without any hope for improvement and wanting to die) need to continue to suffer?

Because it offends the sensibilities of religious zealots to permit them to die with dignity.

Exactly.

Rights are a legal construct. How do you prove them? Nature has neither freedom of speech nor freedom of movement. Pre-civilization, if someone didn’t like what you said or where you went, they could kill you and there would be no consequences. Rights only have meaning in the context of laws and jurisprudence, and the proof is the books the laws are written in.

There is no right to die in most of the world. There is in Canada, Switzerland and a few other places. When I say death is everyone’s right, I am obviously saying “death should be a universal right”.

I grant myself the right to die at a time and place I choose.

Gee, Reg. That was lovely. I hope you don’t say anything else and ruin it.

There should be.

I am obviously saying, I’m sorry I disagree.

One of these things is not like the other.
