Ham Radio

to each their own garbage, no use carrying other peoples garbage around unless you know where you can dump it

If you scroll up you may see, I just dumped it in your lap. And I’m still waiting on you to tell me what a genius he was.

there is nothing on my lap, iam standing in the cold waiting for a train…
not sure what you want to hear, surely you already know my answer: i believe there is a genius and a fool in all of us…

That’s okay. I’ll expand on it…

ā€œDeath is a right.ā€ True or false?

ah you want to see things in black and white… ok then : yes

i agree with the current euthanasia laws we have here

Just yes? No explanation? Is it yes because it makes you feel good or because it sounds right?

and now you dont want a black/white answer lol
did you read the link?

Yes I read it and I did want a black and white answer. With you, sometimes even that is difficult to attain.

You are also expected to give a full paragraph explanation for your reasoning that can be reviewed, fact-checked, analyzed, evaluated and assessed.
Brother, I expect everyone to participate.

its not difficult at all, if you want a yes or no answer just ask for that and there will be a very good chance you will get it
if you demand one then there is almost no chance you will get it lol

you cant always get what you want, my sister;)

I want a straight answer with an explanation.

I’m also willing to move this conversation out of this thread.

yes is the straightest answer i can give you
ok ill try for you: the link i shared mentions unbearable suffering without any hope for improvement, i do not wish that on anyone, so those that dont want to suffer should have the option to make that stop (with the conditions mentioned in the article)

lol no need to move on my account, i quite enjoy that we are cleaning up this old men radio topic;)

I don’t own one but I love that radio. Best handheld around imho. I fully intend to buy one when I’m back in Canada. It might not be the first purchase on my list, and I like to really master a radio before I buy another, but it’s definitely on the shopping list.

Speaking of that, I’m sure you’re aware but that radio will take a long time to learn. So would the D74. They both have wide receive so you can listen to aircraft and marine bands, broadcast bands, and so on. Both have digital modes to learn (DStar for the Kenwood and C4FM on the Yaesu). And both have complicated memory banks and scanning options that are worth mastering, too.

Yes, Michele, that’s the argument against a one-brand approach to anything. All of us face the same choice in several areas, most notably cameras and cars. If you buy one brand of cameras, you can swap lenses between them and once you’ve mastered the menus on one, you’ve pretty much mastered them all. You can generally pick up any of your cameras even after months of disuse and still operate them competently. Same for radios. The menus are complicated, as are the digital modes, memory systems and so on. Sticking to one brand minimizes that while exposing you to problems if your one selected brand dies or starts having problems.

I’ve chosen one brand (Fuji) for cameras and I’m moving to one brand (Yaesu) for radios. For cars, I’m still promiscuous.

*Death is everyone’s right.

everyone?

a kid aged 4 that stepped on their toy screams they want to die…
a woman lost her husband and quickly wants to join him…
your pitbull is missing…

The kid, no. Call it every adult’s right.

The woman, yes. If she wants to die, I won’t stop her. I might try to talk her out of it but it’s her life in the end. And her death.

The pit bull, definitely. Perhaps change right to responsibility in that case.

interesting so no kids but people that might be temporarily confused or shocked yes

how about people with a mental disorder? (careful, to some that includes entire continents or even all humans lol)

Certainly. It’s their life. And their death. Asking for a friend, Nico?
