Good Sports Day

You know, not even the coasts. Washington is so…I don’t know how to put it without sounding like an elitist prick but they’re just rednecks there (outside Seattle of course). Seattle itself is a sewer now. Still, I could live with having Washington in Canada. No way can I accept having Florida in Canada, and probably not Georgia, either. Alaska would make sense but they’re awfully redneck up there, too. I don’t know, this might be a bad idea. lol.

EDIT: Maybe we could just convince New England to make a new country with us. lol

The fact that you find it disgusting doesn’t mean it’s going downhill. At best, it confirms too much money is being spent on that sport.

Let’s try to keep it as realistic as possible.

I don’t know how to put this without sounding completely honest but you always, always, always sound like an elitist prick. Not that you are an elitist prick. In my opinion, you haven’t been able to elevated yourself beyond unclassy snob, but that’s just the redneck in me talking and we both know it means nothing to you.
Keep talking, Sailor.

I do not understand if basketball is in decline or not. Ratings are down by about half in the last decade but the league just signed a 77 billion dollar media deal for 11 years so ratings may not matter. It remains a stupid sport, like all sports.

Perhaps true, although that isn’t my intention.

Don’t open your mouth Michele. Goiter :poop: Pinocchio is waiting for the opportunity.

Oh, I know that, Reggie. Your intention is to offend everyone that fits into the box you put them.

Too late. I’ll close my mouth twice next time.

That isn’t always my intention, but it often is, I admit.

Canada is crushing Sweden 2-0 right now. This Canadian team is amazing. I know their juniors suck, but they should win this.

I know nobody is really paying attention to this hockey thing going on in Boston and Montreal right now, but I will talk about it anyways.

The tournament is NHL players only. The NHL said F U to Russia so they don’t have a team. That leaves Canada, Finland, Sweden and the USA as the only teams that don’t stink at ice hockey. Sometimes, the Czech Republic is good as well.

This tournament is replacing the all star thing. It is round robin. So you play each team once and the top 2 teams meet in the finals. You get 3 pts for a regulation win, 2 points for an overtime win, 1 pt for an overtime loss and 0 points for a regulation loss.

After 2 rounds it is USA with 6 pts. Everyone else has 2 pts. USA beat Canada in Montreal last night. The American anthem was booed in Montreal. Then, there were 3 fights in 9 seconds. USA plays Sweden tomorrow. If USA purposely gets crushed they could eliminate Canada. The finals are in Boston. If Canada makes it, I wonder what the response during the Canadian anthem will be. I would say mild, mostly because it will be a bunch of New Englanders at the game.

Here are the fights/highlights

Here is the booing.

I guess Canada is playing Finland in Boston on Monday night.

It’s unfortunate things have come to this. I don’t blame the people booing but I continue to like 47% of Americans. I won’t watch the finals. Canada sucks at hockey these days.

We didn’t suck tonight.

I don‘t know where to post it, so I post it here. At the end, skiing is sport.

I know I know. What‘s really the difference in risk between flying a hang glider and going down such a steep mountain on skier. But to me there is one. Just like free mount climbing. Admittedly, I never liked skiing much (it‘s nice, yes, but I am not nowhere fascinated by it), but to me this seems to be so much more risky than flying with a hang glider. Watching a hang glider elegantly flying sets me in awe. This skier, just makes me shake my head and wondering, what the hell drives anyone to do this? It appears to me, they love and need the adrenalin from lethal danger and not from experiencing freedom and beauty.

Yes it is a lot.
