This is a good thing. I sympathize with the AfD on Muslim immigration but the rest of their platform, including tax cuts on billionaires, is insanity.

It‘s the first time in my adult life I am relieved the CDU/CSU will lead the government and not the SPD. I am also relieved the bloody FDP didn’t make it over the 5%, as this ends up in the just punishment the CDU/CSU deserve for refusing to form a coalition with the AfD. May Kohl rot in hell and Merkel soon follow him. Both were scooping that grave, which Scholz and Habeck were pleased to dig us in even deeper.

I just don‘t see how Merz together with again the SPD and probably the Greens will get us out of it. We probably have to go to the polls again before this new term regularly ends. If then the AfD finally becomes the coalition partner of the CDU/CSU, it was worth it.

Why?

I thought the Green Party only received 13% of the vote but maybe I just don’t understand math.

Hey Gunda! Your future leader campaigned on closed borders, didn’t he? I guess he lied about that. They have decided to keep your border open for everyone to cross. Musk was right. Makes me sick for you.

it will be more restricted but just like if by some miracle afd would have been in charge, it would also have remained open, basically all parties that talked about closing the border were lying
while you remain in the eu you need to follow their regulations…

Makes me glad I’m not there.

am also glad about that, we dont need more immigrant haters here

I agree. You have enough haters without adding more insult to injury.

r’ amen (then again even 1 is too much, maybe we can “remigrate” them to the usa

Yes, that‘s why I didn‘t vote for his party (knowing they won’t get enough votes to govern alone), but rather preferred to keep the pressure high. Alice Weidel from the AfD already said, that her party, which ranked second in this election, will hound the future government.

Merz pre-electoral statements regarding immigration/asylum changes is based on article 72 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).

I hope he is right and Merz will be able to do that shift. His first speech after the election was promising at least on that topic. We need better and closer ties with the Russians and the Chinese. Without making our military dependent on anyone. We just mainly need enough nukes. We don’t need an army who is capable of attacking. The stronger always takes what he wants. And we need to deter them. Morals are for the weakest. We therefore unfortunately need an independent army in Europe with our own weapon systems manifactured in Europe. The money needed can be gained by reducing the mass immigration of unqualified as well as all Muslims which don’t qualify for asylum. Plus a cut back in pouring out welfare to people who could but don’t want to work (yes, we have plenty of those) and for making our health care system more efficient. But yes, I wonder if the government is able to do this, cause the uproar will be immense - and the SPD won’t agree. The AfD would. The German chancellor isn’t as powerful as a US or Russian president. Thats why changes are so slow.

The speaker is just wrong to compare the CSU/CDU with Republicans and the SPD with the Democrats. This rather indicates he doesn’t know German politics good enough or adresses mainly US viewers with this video in an effort to make it more clear/easier to understand. CDU/CSU and SPD are both resembling rather the US Democrats, with all the other left parties like the Greens and Linke etc. representing mere blind hippies with partly also a communist mind set, having also a huge impact on (German) politics, unlike their similar minded US voters. The only party which reflects the Republicans, if although only as being a mini-Republican, is the AfD. Only the AfD. All political parties in Germany (incl. the AfD) are in their mainstream way more left than the two US parties.

thats why its a lie, thats an “emergency”-law which can never be permanent

As long as the emergency lasts.

yes and you have no emergencies

Over 250.000 illegals caught (and yet let in) crossing the German border in 2023. All of them once entered the outmost EU borders and yet moved on throughout Europe only to come to Germany and most of them apply for asylum only when arriving here and the few who did so in their first EU country they set foot upon nevertheless also move further to mainly Germany. Only for an ignorant idiot this means the EU functions instead of that we face an emergency for minimum a decade already.
