Screaming as a protest against discrimination, violence and even rape and killing (yes, also this happens world wide incl. the Western countries on a daily basis) is still better than to discrininate someone because of oneās gender, race, religion etc. I am just happy I wasnāt in that āconcertā, lol.

I could live with being still in that club without believing in a devine figure, because I also know most people (including me) need rituals for important steps in life. Birth, wedding, death. But not for the price to be treated as a subordinant being.

Because you donāt comprehend that those rituals have a deep meaning for most people. Even for most Atheists. Well, I am one of them. And for some, being part of a religion even means a sort of identity. One of my closest friend, who left the Catholic Church, because she is an Atheist as well, struggles because of that. And my bet is on that she will re-list with them eventually again. Solely because of her identity crises since leaving. Thank God I am very sure she at least wonāt cling to Islam like her Turkish moderate partner. For this she knows enough about that cancer faith.

That too, but I sincerely believe that is not the reason. Even many Atheists are spiritual and eventually cling to some religion. For various reasons (to make their partner happy who belongs to a cult or even to be able to live together, when a child is born etc.) Believing into a deity likely is none of it. At a certain age you are looking for answers, frame or at least some hope (if you can blind the negative aspects of religions out - and humans unfortunately are great in doing exactly that).
