„The system is not just broken. It‘s unjust.“ (Unjust, because Dan ends up in Hell; Luci just hesitates to reveal this to Linda).
This whole therapy session from begin to the end, is one of the best scenes of the whole series. Well, the third best to be precise. The best is his rage speech up into the sky towards his Father in that priest episode, followed by his provocation of his brother after Luci set his cut off wings on fire at the beach.
Unfortunately I only could find this scene on Facebook.
Isn‘t he cute, both outside as well as inside, lol. But he brought Aimee Garcia a bit out of her balance with his question regarding if her character is still a virgin, lol. And he enjoyed it. Well, so did I, lol. Especially as she never stops talking both in that series as well as in interviews. But here she clearly was caught off guard, lol.
I guess Lucifer hasn‘t been more psychologically deranged than in this scene. Despite the episode „The angel of San Bernardino“ is an utterly hilarious one. But Maze betrayed Luci (and I don‘t blame her, as he treated her like shit) by helping his biblical rival Cain to distract Luci, for that Cain can seduce Chloe to fall in love with him to get rid of his mark by God. The moment Trixie opens the door and Luci sees a totally broken Chloe - the most sad scene in the whole series. I enjoyed every punch he landed on Cain.
So far, I am 1.5 episodes in. It is probably the most violent show I’ve seen. Very good so far, though. I did not know quite how barbaric the Mormons were in the mid1800s. Shouldn’t be a surprise I guess. History seems to be kind to them. I don’t remember reading about how disgusting a person Brigham Young was.
Two things: As much as I find this „God made women for men“ bullshit insulting, injust and proof for a Devil instead of a good God character, I somehow like it as an explanation by the writers to explain, why Chloe didn‘t fall for Luci’s charme in the beginning. He was most of the time a non-thinking egotistical narcissist. That he wasn‘t that all the time showed Delilah in the pilot, though. He helped her without demanding anything in exchange.
Chloe recognized this instantly. Only slowly she noticed positive features and believed he is different than he even sees himself and develops feelings, regardless how honest he opens up about his self-doubts. Yes of course, this happens never in real life, but t‘s a nice fairytale to tell.
Chloe: “Truth be told, I find you repulsive. Like on a chemical level.”
Luci: “It’s fascinating.” (With an irresistible look and smile if I may add, lol. Oh it‘s so much fun to watch their banter. )
Or his journey to detect feelings he never felt before (like love, jealousy, empathy, caring and guilt). Or the scene when he learns that he does not want to leave Chloe despite his vulnerability (till now he interpretes this only as a physical condition) in the therapy session with Linda:
Linda: Being vulnerable can be a good thing.
Luci: Nooo it can‘t! It means you are at someone else’s mercy.
Linda: Then maybe you should stay away from anybody. Stay away from Chloe.
Luci (after a pause of thinking he says a bit surprised): I don‘t want to!
It‘s a funny show and the journey of Lucifer on his way to humanize in the best meaning of that word, is a joy to watch.
That looks boring and I find Amish shorts on YouTube of more value of an early lifestyle . More impressed with the Mormon Zeal I see today. Also despite all the weapons and violence it’s nothing to a Provocation and Manifestation of a Real Heavenly Angel with power of voice and presence. I don’t there will be any appearance of Moroni to grace these people or protect them.
Omg. 3rd Rock from the Sun. I absolutely loved that tv show. Totally forgot about it till I found the most lovely award presenting speech I ever heard (to Claire Foy) by the actor who played one of the four aliens and their leader, Professor Solomon, John Lithgow. His description of his character is short but hits the point: „A little boy who hasn‘t learned any manners yet.“
And here’s the presenting speech by Lithgow to Foy. I didn‘t watch the movie but I certainly will because of his praise. I only know Foy from Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch, where she played the shy grey mouse who fell unhappily in love with Sherlock. I liked her back then already. And recently I stumbled about her (again together with Cumberbatch) reading one embarrassing love letter written in WWII in the „Live Letter“ reading series. Also here, she had a similar role or at least the shyness and embarrassment was totally visible. If it wasn‘t acting, then it’s even more lovely, lol. Therefore I am very curious how she plays Queen Elisabeth, which is a totally different role character I assume.
If such an old and experienced, great actor is that impressed by such a young actress, then she either really is a hell of an actress or he fell in love über beide Ohren, lol.
My bad. I mixed up Claire Foy with Louise Brealey. She‘s wonderful.
PS: As is Cumberbatch, lol. As some commenter wrote: „His voice is gorgeous, magnificent, dreamy! Why is he so attractive? He’s the kind of guy that sneaks up on you. He looks odd and you could never picture yourself liking, but the more you watch him in the movies, the more he grows on you.“
I didn’t know he did tv. I remember him way as a villain in star trek into the darkness…very convincing villain and more recently and better as Dr. Strange
No, wait. Now I remember his early looks from Sherlock Holmes. That hair cut and face like piglet from Winnie the Pooh. He has come a long a way in looks and sophistication of clothes of countenance. Much more angular and structured.
Rofl, yes indeed, he looks a bit like that piglet! But as that commenter I quoted says, the longer you watch him, the more handsome he gets (freely interpreted, lol). No clue why that is. But he has something others miss or where others have an opposite effect, the longer you look at them.
What a handsome guy Tom Ellis was. Such a tragedy. Sometimes I wish the series wouldn‘t have been saved after season 3. Then his Italian personal trainer probably wouldn‘t have ruined him.
Don’t you mean personal tailor Gunda? It’s obvious the suits he wears are Italian cut not British or American cuts. Clothes shape a person as much as training does for fashion biased.
Trying on new wardrobe is exhausting.
Wait…can’t be sure until I see the back for venting or not. I don’t know if they do a mix with single or double vents and the wider lapel or less shoulder pads. It’s definitely not a shapeless formless.
Edited: I looked up Lucifer suits and definitely no single center vents showing in the back. He doesn’t carry weapons right? Like John Wick?
